My Thoughts for Today Can you reset your relationship with social media? Earlier this week TIME magazine had an insightful article on "Ways to reset your relationship with social media." This got me wondering why as a society, we got into this situation. The statistics are alarming! A recent survey by Gallup found that "social media usage peaks at age 17 for both genders with an average usage of 5.8 hours daily!" Even the early teens are not spared - with 13-year-olds averaging 4.1 hours on it daily! Millie Goodwin at Whiteoaks International writes that, ""it comes down to three simple things: FOMO or fear of missing out; validation; and comfort! Sure, while social media has its benefits, excessive use can be detrimental - especially in young minds! If you concur with this view, it may be time to consider using insights from the the Log Off Movement (https://lnkd.in/gBaU-sRu) and initiative created in June 2020 by then high school senior, Emma Lembke. Perhaps it's time to reset our relationship with social media! #ccpn #socialnetworking #technology #whatinspiresme
