The older I get the more I agree with this. Managers … we spend so much time at work and you have such an effect on the teams you lead. Any toxicity you create or allow bleeds into your employee’s every day life and self-worth. Management is not for everybody. It wasn’t for me - I had a really hard time having difficult conversations. That wasn’t fair on those who reported to me. I’m much better as a teammate and individual contributor and it was a hard lesson I had to learn. If you are in management for the title then you are doing everyone a disservice.
