So how do you create the right culture for your organisation? When I first started in banking at our Contact Centre near Northwich in Cheshire back in 2001, we had 2 simple things that made our office different to any other in the same organisation, but our colleague engagement scores and retention rates were always so much higher.  These 2 things were:  ✅ We had fresh fruit delivered twice a week   ✅ We had the infamous “trolley” service that came around serving tea and coffee twice a day at your desk When we had site visitors, they’d always be amazed at the simplicity of these 2 things. How could a free bowl of fruit and tea or coffee served at your desk create such a legacy of being a great place to work. It’s simple, colleagues felt valued as the company was investing in a service for them. As time has gone by, the service and offerings for colleagues to create a fantastic culture has evolved and grown to things like free/discounted onsite gyms, massages at your desk and even bring your dog 🐶 to work day, however the premise of this is still the same… If you fail to invest in colleagues wellbeing then don’t expect to create a culture of being a great place to work.
