Would this make more sense? Rather than tracking sales activity (calls and emails typically), instead track the quantity and quality of the discovery data gained in those sales conversations. Create fields for all of the ideal key data. Build your metrics around the quantity and quality. Seems like this would be significantly more valuable for the current and future state of the pipeline.
