Today marks the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act being signed into law. Today, the #ADA extends to the digital realm, ensuring that everyone has equal access to information and services online. Since Lifeblue’s inception, it’s been our mission to make the web a friendlier place for everyone. We take that approach with every project we work on — rigorously testing each site to make sure it’s accessible for people no matter their situation. Colorado is advancing inclusive policy design for individuals with disabilities 🧑⚖️ Colorado’s HB21-1110 law mandates that all state agencies ensure their digital content, including websites and apps, is accessible by July 1, 2025. It focuses on improving user experience for people with disabilities by adhering to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Non-compliance can result in fines and lawsuits. Agencies are encouraged to audit their platforms, prioritize remediation, and engage with accessibility experts to meet the requirements. The law emphasizes inclusivity and promotes digital accessibility across all state-run services. #accessiblecode #socialinclusion #HB21-1110 #accessibility #sustainability https://lnkd.in/dkzX8UaQ

CMO at Pluro. Helping web developers monetize Accessibility as a Service. Simplifying web accessibility WCAG 2.2
B2B marketing is a marathon, not a sprint. Content is the key to success, and I’m thrilled to share my first article for the Canadian accessibility magazine Mélange Business Group on the importance of ongoing accessibility. Through countless conversations with web development agencies, accessibility experts, and large companies, I’ve realized one of the market's biggest misconceptions – the belief that making a website accessible is a one-time task at launch. A website is a dynamic entity, and any changes in content, structure, visuals, or links can affect its accessibility. We’ve observed that many sites accessible at launch become neglected and non-compliant after just a few months, potentially exposing owners to legal risks. As it happens, our incredible platform provides tools to help web development agencies maintain high accessibility standards over time, with the added potential of generating revenue through Accessibility as a Service (AccaaS). Ensuring that all users, regardless of their disabilities, can access and navigate websites is not just a legal obligation but a moral imperative. But how do you make that happen after the initial launch? After adding new popups, new pages, or blog posts? When it comes to website accessibility, it means constantly reviewing the website status and updating it so that all parts of the website are compliant and accessible. Want to learn more? We wrote an article on it for Mélange Business Group, a leading accessibility magazine geared towards people with disabilities. As part of my job, I spend a lot of time trying to understand what our clients really need. Something I quickly discovered is that most businesses think accessibility is something you check off once and forget about—but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Websites are constantly evolving—new content, design tweaks, features—and every change can chip away at accessibility. The more changes that happen, the more likely a website becomes less accessible over time. That’s why ongoing monitoring is so important. After diving deep into research and chatting with clients, it became clear that continuous accessibility checks are a must. What surprised me was that hardly anyone realized this before. But once we introduced ongoing monitoring into our platform, the feedback was amazing. Our clients didn’t just see it as another feature—they recognized it as something they genuinely needed and hadn’t even considered before. For me, this is exactly why I love being a PM. It's about spotting the gaps, solving problems clients didn’t even know they had, and delivering real value. Helping clients see the importance of ongoing accessibility has been a rewarding challenge. Accessibility isn’t just a box to tick—it’s a long-term commitment. You’re welcome to read more about it in this article
