Job well done
Yesterday afternoon we coordinated the medical evacuation from the container ship MSC Nadia IV 🛳, about 128km east of Narooma off the NSW South Coast 🌊 A crew member had suffered a medical episode and required medical assistance. We tasked the Canberra-based Toll Ambulance Rescue helicopter 🚁 which winched the crew member aboard just after 2pm, transporting him to Canberra Hospital for treatment. Our Essendon-based Challenger rescue aircraft 🛫 also provided overhead support for the evacuation. Safe Decon containers are suitable for research facilities that deal with pathogens, cruise ships that need to store hazardous waste until arrival at the port, and hospitals and long-term care facilities that need to dispose of biological waste as well as linens, scrubs, sheets, and sharps. These containers can also be stored on-site at hotels and transported for decontamination, making them useful in the hospitality industry. Safe-Decon containers are small enough to be transported to a field hospital or mash unit and secure enough to store contents in less-than-ideal environments, making them suitable for field use. They can also fit easily into flight wings or rescue helicopters, making it easy to dispose of waste in the field. #safedecon #helicopter #military #cruise #medicaltransportation #containcontroleliminate

🚁 Why Stoke Air Ambulance Needs Its Own Dedicated Helicopter 🚁 In critical emergencies, every second matters. Right now, when the demand is high, helicopters can be stretched too thin, leaving some patients waiting longer than they should, or worse, without air support at all 💔 Having a dedicated helicopter for Stoke and the surrounding areas would mean faster response times, more lives saved, and coverage for our community. It’s not just a want it’s a need. Help us make this a reality! Together, we can ensure that no one has to wait for lifesaving care. https://lnkd.in/eC6YX5jT

Impressive rescue operation! It's incredible to see such teamwork ensuring the safety of everyone. https://lnkd.in/ehKXaRe
Last night we coordinated the rescue of three people after their recreational vessel sank near Block Reef, nearly 90km north-east of Airlie Beach. At 10.15pm (Qld time), we detected the vessel's emergency beacon, tasking the Cairns-based Challenger rescue aircraft and two rescue helicopters - CQ Rescue helicopter from Mackay and QG Air Rescue helicopter from Townsville - to the scene. Mackay Water Police also provided assistance, tasking the police vessel in support. The Mackay rescue helicopter located three crew on board the sinking vessel and dropped a life raft. The crew boarded the life raft moments before the vessel sunk. The water police vessel arrived on scene soon after, recovering all of three crew from the life raft. The three survivors were safely taken to shore, uninjured. This successful outcome is a timely reminder how important it is to always stow a registered emergency beacon, it could save your life. Night vision, new helicopters are pushing the frontiers of fighting wildfires in California https://lnkd.in/g2i78fBP previously I posted: Updated 7/23/24 Code Red 128 - For additional fire fighting equipment for California wildfires including modified planes for fire retardant drops only for large fires away from residential property or fire fighters Previously US DOD funds were used to modify planes to do large fire retardant drops. The code red is for that as well as other US military equipment (helicopters) that can do fire retardant drops. Once again, since some fire fighters had complained fire retardant had caused health issues for them, fire retardant drops can only be done away from fire fighters and not on residential areas. However water drops are okay. I also previously, posted due to high heat (above 100 in parts of California) the rotation for each fire fighter is 2 hours now meaning the fire fighter may only work for 2 hours & then must take a break & rotated with other fire fighter. Acceptable rotation may be from same crew that has not worked for 2 hours, fire fighter from other areas, US vet or active duty may only assist if they had been trained & have all the fire equipment needed for fighting. Nobody is allowed to touch down power lines. Only workers from the power company can touch down power lines. And I also previously posted: those who have been evacuated may be transported by US military or themselves to a safe place like a convention center where US military have set up cots, provide toiletry items, & MRE's if Catholic Charities, Red Cross, or volunteers have not made plans for food. for rest, open your facebook & click on link below... https://lnkd.in/gXH5qKrD

A breakdown of this lesson in excellent communications from British Army following the bizarre scenes of horses running through London yesterday... Crisis communications need to demonstrate CONCERN for those impacted, the actions taken to exert CONTROL over the situation and provide reassurance that includes a COMMITMENT to learn from the experience. Breaking this down in this example: - Simple and clear explanation of the facts and what caused the incident. - Human and emotive message, without hyperbole, that addresses people's concerns about the welfare of people and the horses - Expression of thanks to those who supported the response. - Reassurance about safety and how rare incidents are. - Ends with a clear call to action to stakeholders - in this case the public to be mindful of horses. #CrisisCommunications #Crisis #Reputation #BritishArmy #Horses #London https://lnkd.in/eFKQSNhe
