When to use the GV and GW modifiers in hospice work? When a physician provides a service linked to the diagnosis for which a patient has been registered in hospice, the GV modifier is applied. This physician is not affiliated with the hospice but serves as the attending physician. When a physician provides a treatment that is unrelated to the diagnosis for which a patient has been enrolled in hospice, the GW modifier is used. Wow. It has been a long time since I posted anything, not because nothing has been happening...rather because of too much going on. Have a look at how much a door wrap transferred this hospital's ALC unit's (often a long term home for patients with chronic conditions) entrance into a warmer invitation to enter. This is just the start of many changes within. The reverse side of the door is an "exit diversion" designed to reduce a patient/resident's desire to exit. CDCs increase capacity and access to tests for patients in local communities, so they can be seen quicker, outside of an acute hospital setting.
