Preserving the right to a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for all children is essential to our mission at LUV. Our indigenous partners provide safe spaces to help children, like Nalo*, in our anti-trafficking network grow into active changemakers for their own lives and communities. Born under tragic circumstances, Nalo’s mother was violently attacked while pregnant and later died from her injuries during an emergency cesarean section. Miraculously, Nalo survived. However, when he was abandoned by his father, he was left in the care of his aunt, who struggled to make ends meet. Desperate and afraid for Nalo’s future, she reached out to Lift Up the Vulnerable’s indigenous partners for help. Because of the sanctuary LUV provides in war-torn nations, Nalo had a place to call home. He is now a three-year-old boy living safely in our anti-trafficking network where he can play and learn with other children his own age. We are so grateful to be able to provide essential care, education, and opportunities to vulnerable children like Nalo. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in preventing trafficking and oppression and empowering changemakers. An SOS for Leyla and Leyna: Two Newborns Seeking Safety Leyla and Leyna, two innocent lives just beginning, now find themselves sleeping on the cold streets, fleeing the violence and chaos that have engulfed their home. Born into a world that should have welcomed them with warmth and care, they instead face uncertainty and danger, victims of circumstances they cannot comprehend. Their plight is a stark reminder of the basic rights every human deserves—security, shelter, and the freedom to grow in peace. Yet, in Solino and countless other neighborhoods in Haiti, these rights are stripped away daily as families flee gang violence, seeking safety that seems perpetually out of reach. Babies like Leyla and Leyna symbolize the profound human cost of inaction, their fragile lives caught in a web of injustice. Where is our empathy as a global community? The hardship of these two children reflects the suffering of countless others, and their story is a cry for help. We must respond—not just with words, but with meaningful action. This is a call for solidarity, for humanity to step up and declare that no child should sleep on the streets, no mother should fear for her baby’s life, and no family should endure the horrors of violence and displacement. This is an SOS for Leyla, Leyna, and the thousands of others seeking hope. Together, we can shine a light in the darkness and offer them the future they so desperately need and deserve. #SOS #humanrigth #Haiti #gangviolence

🌟Reminder: Let Children Dream again, not be caught between two wars‼️ #Children are meant to dream, to laugh, to learn—to be free. Yet, too often, their innocence is shattered as they are caught between two wars, held hostage by conflicts they never chose and can’t understand. It’s heartbreaking to see children trapped in a cycle of violence, used as bargaining chips or as tools for political gain. Political campaigns use the trauma of vulnerable children to gain support. This often means that these children—especially those who are vulnerable or at risk—are seen as silent victims. Their stories are shared not to help them, but to serve a political agenda, taking away their voice and worsening their situation. These young souls need safety, love, and a chance to heal. They need homes, not headlines; protection, not exploitation. They deserve schools, not shelters; peace, not fear. Every child has the right to a future defined by hope—not war. We must defend their innocence with urgency and compassion. No child should ever be held hostage between two wars. 🚨Stand up. Speak out. Protect them. Let them dream again! "As we actively celebrate the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all humanitarian aid organizations, Civil Society Organizations, and individuals who are passionately fighting against all forms of GBV. Your tireless efforts in awareness raising, advocacy, capacity building, medical response, and economic empowerment are truly commendable. You are the unsung heroes who brave the odds to support survivors of GBV. Thank you for your remarkable resilience. As we continue to fight against GBV, I have been reflecting on the critical role of positive intentional parenting and child upbringing in curbing all forms of GBV in society. Parents are the first point of contact for these young minds, and we are their first role models. We have the opportunity to model positive values such as love, respect, and empathy to our children. Conversely, we can also inadvertently model violence and negative behaviors. As we strive to create a society free from GBV, let us be intentional about instilling positive values in our children. By doing so, we can empower future generations to become agents of change and promote a culture of respect, empathy, and non-violence. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for all." #Writer #SpokenWordArtist #Poet #TheVoiceOfSolace #YouthActivitist #IntentionalAboutYouths

Today, on the International Day to End Slavery, we are reminded that slavery is not just a relic of the past but a grim reality for millions of people worldwide. Modern-day slavery takes on many forms, including: Human Trafficking Forced Labor Child Exploitation Debt Bondage Forced Marriage Domestic Servitude Organ Trafficking Shockingly, this dark industry generates an estimated $150 billion annually, driven by economic inequalities, poverty, and systemic exploitation. As a survivor, I understand the deep scars it leaves behind. My lived experience fuels my commitment to ensuring that every project I lead addresses the prevention of modern slavery or works to emancipate its victims. Whether it's providing education, economic empowerment, or fostering safe communities, my focus is on dismantling the systems that enable this exploitation. Organizations like the The Freedom Fund are working tirelessly to combat this injustice, and their impact serves as an inspiration to us all. Ending modern slavery requires a multi-pronged approach involving advocacy, systemic reforms, and grassroots action. This fight is deeply connected to the ongoing 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. We all have a role to play in ending this pervasive exploitation. Let’s use our voices, platforms, and resources to protect the vulnerable and support survivors in rebuilding their lives. Together, we can make freedom a reality for everyone. How will you join the fight against modern slavery today? #EndModernSlavery #FreedomForAll #16DaysOfActivism #HumanRights #EconomicEmpowerment

On this 🌏 #DayofFamilies, we call for investments in social and #childprotection systems that strengthen families and their ability to care for their children. 'We must all do our part. The partnership of governments, civil society organizations, and individuals is a driver to create a world where every child grows up in a nurturing family environment, ensuring their rights are safeguarded, and their futures are filled with promise and opportunity,' says Dr. Dereje Wordofa, President of SOS Children's Villages International. Toto Special: Happy Children's Day in advance. It falls on 14th November, Thursday (2024). Children are not at all happy this year. The reason is adults do not take proper care of children. We love babies, and social media sites are abuzz with children's videos. At Toto IndiaUnplugged it's a matter of rejoicing, but in a world full of wars, bullying, and irresponsibility children are not safe anywhere. Giving our children a peaceful and loving atmosphere is in our hands and does not require too much hard work. However, as in the case of climate change, world leaders are paying little attention to children's well-being. The gun culture in the US, the mass availability of weapons for terrorists, and surging crime rates in many other regions are threatening the innocent livelihood of children in this filthy world. Is there no solution? Children are being exposed to conflicts created by adults all over the world. These conflicts often claim children's lives for no reason whatsoever and are ignored for championing selfish behaviors of leaders irrespective of the status and designations of the organizations these leaders are in charge of. Children are also affected by malnourishment, poverty, lack of quality education and healthcare, and man-made atrocious labor conditions. That is why the world is turning increasingly reckless for the little ones who are in no way involved in any of the above-mentioned hostilities. Is observing a day dedicated to children enough to protect them from all sins and care for which the adults are responsible? Children need more attention and a befitting children-centric culture everywhere to ensure they can live in a healthy atmosphere and become responsible and kinder humans when they grow up. Let's create a world where every day is children's day. #ChildrensDay #Children #Conflicts #GunsAndWeaponsCulture #Terrorism #Health #Education #Poverty #CrimesAgainstChildren #ChildLabor #Innocence #AdultBehavior #Wars Image from: Leo Coffee
