CE certification does not exist It is common to hear the term CE Certification The problem is that… It does not exist You, as manufacturer or importer, need to fix a CE marking on your products to sell them in the EU It is a declaration of responsibility. You are the only one responsible for it. There is nobody coming and telling you are “CE certified” You test your product You sign your declaration of conformity You are responsible for whatever happens next 📥 If you have questions, DM me 📥 I do not have all the answers, but I have friends who have them #emc #cemarking

As previously announced, the UK government has enacted legislation to indefinitely continue the recognition of the CE marking for a range of products within the scope of 21 regulations, including toys, radio equipment, machinery, and more. The Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment) Regulations 2024 were made on 23 May 2024 and will come into force on 1 October 2024. Read our recent article authored by me and my colleagues Valerie Kenyon and Magdalena Bakowska outlining recent developments, the new “fast-track” UKCA process, as well as what's on the horizon, including the exciting prospect of digital labelling: https://lnkd.in/daXukmZ7 #ProductSafety #ConformityAssessment #CEmarking #UKCA

The UK Government last week issued updated guidance on the situation regarding UKCA and CE marking requirements. We urge UKWF member companies to take a look here: https://lnkd.in/eYryWXwb Our Technical Officer, Ian Turner, gave the following summary: "The Government appears to be confirming it will allow optionality as to which conformity assessment framework you apply to your weighing instruments. This can be a CE mark, or you can use a UKCA mark. We must remember that we cannot confirm this until the legislation has been produced that will bring this guidance into law. We're expecting that to happen early this year." Our member companies can learn more at our next Technical Webinar - which will be dedicated to new regulatory updates including UKCA/CE requirements - on 26th Feb. As predicted in our blog back in August 2023 (see: https://lnkd.in/eyvyPbHM), the Department for Business and Trade have now revoked the expiry date of the recognition of CE marking, and removed the associated transitional provisions which are no longer required. Please see: https://lnkd.in/e3SYrpyn for further information which sets out The Statutory Instrument’s two main objectives: • To revoke the expiry date of the recognition of certain European Union (EU) requirements relating to goods, which is due to end on 31 December 2024 and to remove the associated transitional provisions which are no longer required. This will allow continued recognition of EU requirements for the product regulations within scope for goods placed on the market in Great Britain (GB) • To replace the expiry provision and the associated transitional provisions, with a provision that recognises EU testing or conformity assessment procedures. This will mean that, where manufacturers have undertaken conformity assessment procedures with EU recognised bodies, the United Kingdom Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking may be used, instead of the relevant EU conformity marking. #cenheard #healthandsafety #ukca #ukcamark #CEmark
