Congratulations!!!
I've mentioned Performance Matters in previous posts. I've also mentioned Steve and Currie. To say these guys are amazing at what they do doesn't begin to describe just how great they are.
I met Steve and Currie for the first time not long after they started with Performance Matters. Any past experience our company had with consulting companies was less than positive and at the time my mind hadn't opened enough to learn more about their unique services. However, they both knew long before I could see it that Performance Matters and Hughes Customat, Inc. would eventually be working together.
The work we are doing with Performance Matters is having a profound effect on how we are operating our business and for me on a personal level -and over a relatively short period of time.
I've been the president of our company since 2017 but I never actually believed myself to be an actual "leader" until recently. These two and their own leadership skills and styles are big part in this There's a team behind Steve and Currie (Gary, Caleb, and more to add soon), but it all started for our company with them. I can't thank them enough. Currie - for your patience and for getting to know me personally and learn about our business and the challenges we have. Steve - for allowing me to share details regarding some really difficult things and situations (business and personal)- without judgement. The passion (and compassion) these two have for small independent laundries is indescribable. I look so forward to our work ahead.
Congratulations to both Steve Royals, MBA and Currie Gilbert on your first 10 years with Performance Matters. If anyone were to attempt to list all the contributions you both are making to the Industrial Laundry industry, some would surely be missed - there are that many! Though I don't know you in other industries or roles, in my opinion you both seem to have found your perfect fit in what you do.

10 years ago we took a good thing and made it even better. We added these two amazing people to our team, and the industry is better for it. We want to take this opportunity to show our appreciation for their contributions to the industry, their dedication to our team, and their humble service to literally hundreds of people in our circle of friends. Best of all, it appears they are just getting started.

Celebrating Success
In the dynamic world of IT, success is not a solitary journey but a collective achievement. As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape, it's crucial to recognize the power of supporting one another and celebrating each other's victories. In this post, we explore the importance of applauding our colleagues, acknowledging their achievements, and fostering a culture of support within our IT community.
In our IT community, success is not just about individual accomplishments but the shared triumphs of the entire team. We thrive in an environment where each member is empowered to contribute their best, and that empowerment comes from the unwavering support of their peers. Let's celebrate the fact that together, we are stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to overcome challenges.
Success isn't always about grand milestones; it's also about the small victories and incremental progress. Take a moment to acknowledge and applaud your colleagues for their hard work, dedication, and the daily contributions that collectively shape our success. Recognizing the small wins creates a positive and motivating atmosphere that fuels continuous improvement.
Support is a two-way street. By actively encouraging and cheering for our colleagues, we foster a culture of positivity and motivation. Whether it's a successful project completion, a skill acquisition, or a personal milestone, let's make it a habit to clap for each other. Your encouragement might be the boost someone needs to reach new heights in their career.
As we embark on a new year in the IT world, let's make a conscious effort to be each other's biggest cheerleaders. By acknowledging achievements, embracing diversity, and fostering a culture of encouragement, we contribute to a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. Remember, the applause you give today might be the inspiration someone needs tomorrow. Let's celebrate success together and make 2024 a year of collective triumphs and shared victories! 🎉👏

During my career, as I've transitioned from one adventure to another, it’s always challenging. It’s not necessarily difficult to leave the job itself, but it is ALWAYS difficult to leave the people behind. I’ve realized that my calling in life, which I deeply enjoy, is helping individuals learn and grow in their careers. By creating an atmosphere of trust and accountability, where everyone is aligned towards the same goals, I’ve been able to build the most collaborative and effective teams. Such cohesion doesn’t happen overnight, nor does it occur with every team—it requires consistent ‘care and feeding’ to flourish.
What I can affirm is that this synergy did occur with the IT team at Arnot Health. We discovered the ‘magic sauce’—the right people in the right roles, leading their teams in a unified direction, thus creating a well-oiled machine. We implemented tangible changes that positively impacted our customers and, consequently, our patients. I know we had some unfinished business, but the roadmap we had laid out was taking a detour in another direction.
The last few days with this group were among the most humbling experiences of my career. The cards, gifts, kind words, hugs, and tears shared were profoundly moving. The love I invested in them was returned to me, amplified a hundred times over. I lost count of the heartfelt ‘thank you’ s,’ the acknowledgments of making a difference, and the declarations of life-changing opportunities I helped facilitate. It was both overwhelming and humbling to realize the extent of my influence, even in seemingly minor ways, and to witness the depth of their gratitude. To me, these gestures are simply what a good leader or mentor should offer—it’s not a superpower; it’s how it should be.
I am now embarking on my next adventure, a decision that was far from easy. I stand by the sentiments expressed in my resignation letter: ‘This has been one of the most rewarding leadership positions I’ve held in my 30-year career.’
I wish the Arnot IT Team nothing but the best!

When I was 15 years old I was absolutely sure I knew everything. When Reilly Partners turned 15 in January 2020 we were pretty sure we did too. After all, many of the most respected and successful companies in the world were regularly trusting us to help them recruit and build their leadership teams. Fast forward to today as we celebrate our 19th year in business and I’m realizing how much we didn’t know and how much we've learned over the last four years:
- We learned the deliberate, thoughtful effort it takes to effectively function as a team in a hybrid world.
- We learned how to listen more closely and ask better questions in order to understand and deliver on our client's needs.
- We learned how to attract, develop, retain, and in some cases even recruit back our own people in a hyper competitive market for talent.
- We learned the importance of adapting, evolving and working to find new solutions every singe day, in order to deliver the quality and consistency our clients demand.
The world slowed down for a bit, only to catch its breath and take off moving faster than ever. I imagine it left some behind. But at Reilly Partners, we are in a full sprint, working with many of the same world class clients who have trusted us for years, and several new ones. We are stronger, faster, smarter and better than ever.
I'm proud to have been a part of this Reilly Partners team for 15 of our 19 years - especially now, knowing the best years are ahead of us.
Thank you to each and every client who has put their trust in us. Thank you to every member of the Reilly Partners team from every stage of our journey. We wouldn't be here without you.
I can't wait to see what happens next. I know we have even more to learn - but I know we're ready.

I’m still super energized after a fantastic few days in Nashville! We brought together over 250 leaders from our Product & Experience and Technology (PXT) community for our Senior Leader’s conference. It’s rare our global team is in one room, so we make the most of our time together. This year, we focused on the customer – even more than we usually do. It helps that the ‘X’ at the center of our name represents the customer experience, our X-Factor.
Sharing some highlights from our conversations:
• Customer Focus: We’re employees and customers of Chase, but we don’t always have the same perspective for millions of U.S. households and small businesses. It was deeply powerful to sit in small groups and speak with actual customers and small business owners. Customer research and market trends don’t compare to someone telling you to your face what’s wrong or great about your product. Senior leaders can lose touch of that nuance, but I’m grateful we were able to ground ourselves in the valuable insight shared.
• Unified Teams: We operate as product-aligned teams – Product, Technology, Data and Design, a quad. Presentations, workshops and fireside chats were given with this lens; we’ve experienced incredible growth, and we’re continuing to explore ways to find efficiencies to work together as one unified team.
• Strategic Prioritization: Prioritization is tough but crucial. By delivering on a long-term strategy, we avoid pitfalls when macro or micro trends change while staying nimble enough to accelerate work as needed.
• Foundational Excellence: Getting the basics right is essential. Stability and reliability is table stakes in technology. We don’t get to innovate and deliver flashy new products if customers don’t first trust us to simply work correctly 24/7/365.
• Modernization Journey: Technology is always changing, so we have to anticipate and build for the future today while exiting platforms and systems that slow us down.
A special shout-out to everyone who volunteered their time to pack meals for Meals of Hope, a local nonprofit in Nashville. Your dedication to giving back to the community is truly inspiring. Together we packed over 28,608 meals. Thank you for making a difference!
