Lightspeed Construction Group’s Post

At Lightspeed Construction Group, we prioritize safety first in all aspects of our work. Our core values revolve around ensuring the well-being of our team members and the communities we serve. Our workers frequently have to navigate and work with overhead lines as part of operations. Here are some tips for working safely with these potentially dangerous wires and cables: 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Keep at least 10 feet away from power lines and their connections. If the voltage to ground is over 50 kilovolts, you should maintain a greater distance. 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁: Don't touch anything that's touching the power line, and be careful of fencing near power lines. 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, hard hats, face shields, insulated boots, rubber gloves with leather protectors, insulating sleeves, and flame-resistant clothing. 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘆: Use clean, dry, wooden or fiberglass ladders, and keep them 10 feet away from power lines. Carry ladders and other equipment horizontally, and lower equipment before driving. 𝗕𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Survey the site for overhead power lines, and ask for an observer to help you maintain a safe distance. 𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿: Avoid spraying water near power lines. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗼 𝗗𝗼 𝗜𝗳 𝗔 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀: If you're in a car when a power line falls on it, the car will channel electricity around you. If you come across a fallen power line, stay at least 35 feet away. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁: Call the electrical company to de-energize the line By staying vigilant and adhering to best practices, we are able to deliver reliable and secure telecommunications infrastructure while keeping everyone safe. #SafetyFirst #TelecommunicationsConstruction #OverheadLineSafety #CoreValues #WorkplaceSafety #Safety #FullCircleFamily #LightspeedCG
