For the last week, the world has been talking about the achievements of DeepSeek. And while their developments are impressive, DeepSeek’s achievements don’t mark the beginning of a new AI wave—but rather the final chapter of an era that has been building for years. DeepSeek has been focused on the scaling of pre-training, but the leading US labs, such as Anthropic, are focused on the future with a new post-training paradigm that’s pushing model capabilities forward. The large AI labs are working toward the end goal of developing AGI. That goal takes capital, talent, and capabilities to achieve, and we believe that they are uniquely set up to reach it.
