Super interesting study on NEJM AI objectively assessing the state of AI medical devices adoption in the US ! 👇 This study analyzed 11 billion CPT reimbursement claims from Jan 2018 to June 2023, and shows that only 2 devices drive most usage and surpass 10,000 claims : AI devices for coronary artery disease (HeartFlow, Inc) and diabetic retinopathy (Digital Diagnostics ) 🫀 👁️ Moreover, higher-income, metropolitan areas with academic medical centers exhibit greater medical AI usage. Great to see yet another publication showing the benefits of using Koios Medical #smartultrasound in combination with radiologists. In tandem, radiologists + Koios continues to improve patient care globally. From the study: Conclusion: The use of an AI-based DSS was associated with an overall improvement in the diagnostic efficacy of ultrasound imaging, based on the AUROC, as well as an increase in sensitivity, specificity, the negative and positive predictive value, and diagnostic accuracy. There was also a reduction in interobserver variability and an increase in the degree of concordance with the use of Al.
