A message from our founder, Kia Abrera: To our dear Malikhains, (center heading) This is not easy news to deliver. Due to the underwhelming response to the Likha Summit this year, I and the board of directors making up the Likha Summit have made the heartbreaking decision to cancel this year’s events, including the Alab Bootcamp. We tried to still give it one final shot as evidenced by the changes we tried to make - unfortunately, our efforts fell short. I know that some of you flew in from different parts of the Philippines and moved your schedules around for this year’s events. As a fellow entrepreneur, I understand the importance of your time and I know that this would be disappointing and frustrating, especially on short notice. I failed on so many fronts in the running of the Likha Summit and Alab Bootcamp for this year and pushed myself beyond what I could handle both from a health and a business standpoint. We also failed to listen to our market and did not pivot early. We banked on past success and didn’t take into account current challenges and the fast-changing climate. We also did not take into account the economic challenges of today. I have let you down by pushing beyond what was possible for me at that time, despite not being at my best. I failed to take my own advice which was to pace myself, listen to the market, pivot early and serve our clients and customers effectively and efficiently. I know I have disappointed you, and that is the last thing that I want to do. For that, I am truly sorry. What happens now? You will get FULL REFUNDS for your tickets. We will send instructions in a separate email so we can make the process as efficient as we can. As an added incentive, you’ll still get all the bonuses that we promised with your ticket. All I ask right now is if possible, that you give our team some grace and patience as we start processing your full refunds. Should you wish to voice out your frustrations, please email me directly at kia@braveworks-inc.com or send me a message on any of my social accounts. Please don’t take it out on the team, as they all have worked very hard to make this happen to the best of their ability. As the founder of the Likha Summit, I take full responsibility for this. Further, the Likha Summit from here on will be dissolved. We won’t be mounting another Likha or any big events in the foreseeable future while we regroup and recover our losses. The mission to elevate the Filipino Creative is a big one to take on, and this was a defining learning experience for all of us at Likha. For now, we will take the hard lessons and regroup, and take ownership of what happened. Thank you very much for the support, Malikhains. Once again, my most heartfelt apologies for everything that has happened and I am hoping for your understanding as we recover. To your flight, Kia
