Let's get personal! That's one of the critical learning for me: It is the personal commitment which make impossible things to be possible. Keep striving for creativity and never settle. This is where we as human being still makes the difference, not AI. And it's personal engagement to get the team and supporting collaborators to be aligned towards the same goal. Not something we easily see from conventional corporate structures. These are being demonstrated in so many incredible brilliant works being designed by highly respected designer Eleftheria Deko. Both arc magazine issue 142 article and #Grdmagzine 12th Issue in 2024 are worth the reading. Some of the critical tricks and tips , of course I am not going to share here. ;-) #PersonalEngagement #TeamSpirit #lightingDesign Eleftheria Deko #CrossborderInnovation #DoNotTakeNoForGranted
🌟 Celebrating the light of Eleftheria Deko 🌟 We were honored to attend the special event celebrating Eleftheria Deko, where GrdMag unveiled its final 2024 issue—a stunning 150-page tribute to her life's work, creative journey, and unique philosophy of light. Eleftheria Deko is a distinguished Greek lighting designer renowned for her extensive work across theater, opera, dance, and architectural projects. Since 1990, she has designed lighting for over 600 performances, earning international acclaim and numerous awards. In 2001, she founded "Eleftheria Deko & Associates Lighting Design Studio," focusing on both stage and architectural lighting. A pivotal moment in her career was designing the lighting for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, for which she earned the 2005 Emmy Award—the first Greek to achieve this honor! As serial awards winner, the latest work in Lighting Design for the stunning Acropolis, won her Ultimate Darc Award in 2020, amongst many others... Beyond her design work, Deko has contributed to education as an Assistant Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she introduced stage lighting into the Greek university curriculum. Her innovative approach and dedication have significantly influenced the field of lighting design in Greece and internationally. This is clearly being visible on generations of lighting designers who have been influenced by her. The celebratory 150-page magazine was revealed on December 11 at the Benaki Museum. Vivalyte had the privilege of designing a custom LED-lit cover, featuring a circular LED panel, a rechargeable battery, and a touch-activated sensor.
