After many months of hard work, this long awaited report is finally out. The Council has adopted its strategic agenda to set long-term political priorities until 2029. The agenda will focus on competitiveness, security, and the Rule of law, in contrast to the previous strategic agenda, which focused heavily on emission reductions. The pathway to a competitive Europe is through further deployment of renewables, electrification, and improvements to the grids, which will secure the lowering of energy prices and improve competitiveness. Here, UvdL's "Clean Industrial Deal" could be a tool to ensure both competitiveness and further deployment of renewables. As a Dane, it will be interesting to follow since the Danish companies are at the forefront of combining competitiveness with emission reduction.
