🌟🌿 "Embracing paradigm shifts in midwifery ensures our success and thriving in the future." 🤰💡 As the landscape of maternal care evolves, so must our approach—innovation and adaptability are the keys to our progress. #MidwiferyInnovation #FutureOfCare Shifts in healthcare, technology, and societal needs call for transformative changes in midwifery. It's about integrating evidence-based practices, harnessing technology for better care, and championing inclusivity and accessibility. #AdaptToThrive #FutureOfMidwifery Changes need to be made in how we think and talk to ourselves! Words like self care is being selfish needs to stop, working in a team practice isn't true midwifery, midwives can't be a great mother and midwife at the same time, and midwifery is a calling, not a paid vocation. We need to stop with the head trash we tell ourselves and get into a new way of thinking about midwifery that allows our amazing profession to thrive and not fall in the next few years! Our commitment to excellence drives us to embrace change. It's not just about keeping up; it's about leading the way, setting new standards, and providing holistic, empowering care for women and families. #LeadTheChange #EmpowerMidwives Let's stand at the forefront of these shifts, driving progress, and shaping the future of midwifery. Together, we can ensure that our care remains impactful, relevant, and tailored to meet the evolving needs of women and families. 🌟👶🌐 #FutureOfHealthcare #MidwiferySuccess

CEO Grow Midwives, LLC; March for Moms, Founding President/Board Member; Past President ACNM; Editor Top Selling Book, 2nd Ed., Nobody Told Me About That: Surviving and Thriving Through the Early Weeks of Parenting
The International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) definition, “A midwife is a person who has successfully completed a midwifery education programme based on the ICM Essential Competencies for Midwifery Practice and the framework of the ICM Global Standards for Midwifery Education, recognised in the country where it is located; who has acquired the requisite qualifications to be registered and/or legally licensed to practice midwifery and use the title ‘midwife,’ and who demonstrates competency in the practice of midwifery.” https://lnkd.in/gqDHUn-x 👉Why was MARKETING the highest ranking need for OK midwives at their recent planning retreat, and remains the highest need requested by ACNM members over the past 4 decades? Because the public, payers and policymakers do not understand what a midwife is. This persistent lack understanding is foundational to barriers of midwifery practice in the US. Ask your next Uber/Lyft driver if they know what a midwife is. (Something I do every time I travel) The answer will likely be far from describing the scope of services provided. Travel anywhere in Europe and ask the same question, their answer will be immediate and accurate. In other countries a car is a car, a dentist is a dentist, a pharmacist is a pharmacist. Until a midwife is a midwife in the US — confusion will reign resorting in a majority of the public insecure trusting this profession. There is a global standard and definition. #ICM #GrowMidwives #scalingupandsustainingmidwifery
