Normet is also one of the official simulator providers of the EFNARC Nozzle Operator Scheme. 🏗️ Chuquicamata Iconic Project: One standout project highlighted by Harri is the Chuquicamata Underground copper mining project in Chile where Normet provided a comprehensive solution, including state-of-the-art equipment and immersive training (utilizing virtual reality simulators). Harri shed light on the challenges posed by the arid climate for concrete mixing and the logistical hurdles of recruiting skilled workers to remote areas. Video game tech is allowing workers to do maintenance on offshore equipment without stepping one foot on the water. The Norwegian company PaleBlue developed a VR training program designed to allow employees to safely work on repairs and construction on the Gjøa platform without the need to venture into the sea. The technology uses Virtual reality to simulate the platform's interior, reducing the number of trips needed to tackle issues on infrastructure. Equinor, Norway's largest oil and gas operator, is doing just the same with Echo, through visualizations of its different plants, and using new ways of analyzing data, and augmented reality.
