WE ARE WUERTH On the occasion of Professor Würth’s 75th work anniversary, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited the distribution center at the company’s headquarters in Künzelsau-Gaisbach, Germany. During a joint tour with Professor Würth, the automated logistics processes were shown to Chancellor Scholz. 📦 Würth aims to fully leverage the benefits of #digitalization and #automation. For the strategic development of logistics, Würth has set itself the goal of achieving an automation level of 75 percent by 2030 in the companies with the highest sales volumes. After all, automated logistics processes ensure the company’s continued growth. Robots are an important part of Würth’s automation strategy: On the one hand, customers can be supplied faster and more reliably thanks to automated processes. On the other hand, they relieve employees of physically strenuous tasks. In addition, robots in logistics increase productivity. Chancellor Scholz also took a look at the construction progress of the expansion of the distribution center. Thoughts & feelings on my 1 year anniversary at Swisslog: In a big business, strong culture is paramount. Swisslog People [formerly HR] have an uncanny knack of selecting employees who add to what is already a very cool, friendly and passionate atmosphere. Each and every meeting has purpose but is laced with fun, and good chat. The leadership team here are highly focussed on making sure its people are happy. Because happy people + passionate people = productive people. I'm into that. I find myself in a business that is striving very hard to be as agile as possible for the customer, but is unapologetic in its demands for quality & process excellence. We're all aligned in our efforts to turn things around quickly, that's what the market wants, right? But nobody ever wants any hidden surprises come realisation phase, do they? This is work in progress...🧐 My UK & Nordic AS BU sales team are all mega. They relentlessly continue to spin plates, make things happen, and the opportunities are coming in. To steal a football phrase... a manager is only as good as his team... and I've landed on my feet. Thanks guys. A busy Q3 is upon us! 😉 Swisslog & AutoStore have a terrific relationship. It's fluid, it's collaborative, and it's very much mutual. Big up to the AutoStore Partnership & BD team(s) for managing your partners the way you do. Gold standard, and I personally am trying hard to reciprocate. Honesty & transparency always wins.🤝 To finish, I'm loving the cross border work and relationships that come with working daily on a global level. Working cross functionally across Europe has been a terrific learning curve and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Absorbing everyone's culture and teasing each other about all of our nuances & quirks [even though essentially, we're all the same] has probably been the highlight for me.
