On this day in 1968, the Fair Housing Act 🏡 was established, as part of the Civil Rights Act, to protect people from discriminatory housing practices and ensure equitable ⚖️ opportunities for all. Today, the Fair Housing Act continues to prohibit 🚫 discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or disability. These protective measures apply to buying or renting a home, obtaining a mortgage, seeking housing assistance, and other housing-related activities. Team IEM is proud to promote fair housing 🏘️. We recognize the importance of advocating for equitable housing initiatives, fostering inclusive communities, and building a future with equal opportunities for safe and affordable homes. #FairHousingAct #HUD #housing #fairhousing #equitablehousing #housingdiscrimination

April is National Fair Housing Month! The Federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) was enacted 53 years ago as Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act on April 11, 1968. While the FHA was a significant step forward in combating housing discrimination, there is still much work to be done to promote diverse and inclusive communities where everyone can thrive and have access to equitable resources and opportunities. Access to affordable housing continues to be a significant issue, particularly for marginalized communities such as low-income individuals, people of color, and those with disabilities. Community Housing Capital, Inc. supports the ongoing efforts of the many organizations whose work affirmatively furthers fair and affordable housing! #affordablehousing #fairhousing #fairhousingact

Did you know that April is #NationalFairHousingMonth? As we look back on the pivotal moment of the Fair Housing Act's passage in April 1968, it's essential to recognize the ongoing journey toward achieving equitable housing opportunities for all. Fair housing isn't just about legal compliance. Access to safe, affordable housing is a basic human right, yet discriminatory practices and systemic barriers persist, disproportionately affecting marginalized communities. Now more than ever, we must advocate for comprehensive, equitable housing policies that address historical inequities and promote inclusive communities. By championing fair housing practices and advocating for policies that dismantle barriers and promote diversity and inclusion, we can create a more just and equitable society for all. #Housing #HousingJustice #HousingEquity
