DK-UK HealthTech Solutions and Digital Innovation in Health Care Concluding four-day HealthTech and Digital Innovation Collaborative delegation visit to Leeds and London, scoping out new collaboration models and solution presentations providing participating innovators 360-feedback sessions with focus on policy demand, innovation level, evaluation and cost-effectiveness demonstration, procurement and value-angles. Jakob Skaarup Nielsen launched new publication on Digital Innovation in Healthcare, while the delegation visit programme was designed around ‘solution presentations and clinical adoption’, facilitating engagement around positive practices that stand out and warrant further joint exploration, linking policy priorities, clinical realities and the role technology plays to progress novel treatment and care interventions providing better outcomes and much needed relief to health services. Key observations: 1. Value in linking international hubs of excellence and innovation accelerators, twinning novel solutions for evidence generation, piloting and scaling. 2. Based on clinical needs, understand the journey from primary to secondary care and the willingness from clinicians to help generate business cases. 3. Break down silos - it’s about engaging the bureaucracy in between clinicians, users and procurement - joint understanding of the Business Approval Scheme. This can shape off 3-4 weeks of access time and help de-risk pilots. 4. Market entry strategy: Innovation programmes with the Leeds and London healthtech ecosystems, delivering a portfolio of projects and bottom-up pilot partnerships.
