Staff Accountant || CPA Candidate || University of Memphis Alumna

Even as a recent alumna with two majors and two minors under the same degree, I can see why it would be interesting to shake up the educational requirements. Money and time are the contributing factors of pursuing the 150 credit requirement. Plus, in my experience, more accounting firms would ask the candidates or interns whether they will have 150 credits once they start full time employment. I feel like there should be some incentives to help anyone obtaining 30 additional credits. More research on the entry rules should provide on what strategies to attract candidates pursuing the CPA exam and license. One example would be some firms and/or corporations collaborating with universities providing support and resources to anyone pursuing 150 credit. While this issue could last longer, I believe it would take some time to have the numbers back before the pandemic. Plus, more recruitment and marketing would be another key to help the numbers increasing and pursuing the accounting degree and profession. #accounting #staffing #cpa #cpaexam #120credit #150credit #challenges #money #time #employment #support #research #firms #corporations
