Today, the MassCyberCenter convened Commonwealth municipalities, IT professionals, and CyberTrust Massachusetts' higher education partners for its annual Cyber Summit at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Takeaways: 💻 Cybersecurity is a team sport. Get as many players as you can involved in the game. It's everyone's job to protect the castle! 💻 Have your cyber resiliency plans in place before an attack happens. Building that plane while flying it can be risky. While that is expensive, it can get exponentially more costly if you're not prepared. 💻 Critical infrastructure is particularly vulnerable. It's scary how many life services could be threatened - water, electricity, emergency services, schools. 💻 There are not enough Cyber professionals to mitigate current and future threats. Australia needs at least 5,000 additional cybersecurity professionals each year, now more than ever, it is critical that we grow and expand Australia’s skills pipeline, improve the diversity of the cyber workforce and professionalise the domestic cyber workforce. With support from the Kyndryl Foundation, UTS is offering free training to members of target communities interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity. To express interest in this valuable training, we invite you to complete a short survey. Your input will help us understand the needs and interests of individuals in the target communities as we develop the course program.
