One of our Co-Founders, Nadia Nathania was invited to speak about how she grew this platform to become one of the fastest growing badminton education centre in Surabaya. Here are some insightful budget friendly marketing tips we'd like to share to our fellow students who are also starting out their own business: 1. Use what you can. Do not spend if you can still manage with your own resources. 2. Be consistent and active on social media. Content doesn't have to always be perfect, consistency is key. 3. Network. Go to networking events and start introducing yourself to strangers – let them know what you're working on, and keep in touch! It's the beginning of the month and it's also typically the busiest period for finance in general. However on Friday, my colleagues and I had some unconventional chat 😆 it's about badminton at the Olympics. I like how our work connects us but with the spirit of sports, I super like how badminton connects us tho we are not playing or super into sports 🤣 but because Malaysia is playing at the Olympics, it became a common topic for us to chat and laugh together. Given the flexibility to work from home, we don't really meet our colleagues often but it's thru some little effort and small conversations like this that help us stay connected ❤️ Let not wait till the company does big events or some monthly/ quarterly meet up to connect with our fellow colleagues. Let's start to initiate some small conversations to establish the relationship. Team work starts within ourselves 😊 P/s: huge congratulations to our Malaysia team. We feel the intensity and heart pounding moment especially when all eyes on you. Words may be little in the game between the coach and the players but the relationship and connection built makes it easy to comfort each other with just a pat or thru eye contact ❤️ A genuine and subsisting relationship means that the relationship is real and not just a matter of formality. #Badminton #Olympics #teamwork

Good morning, Malaysia!! It’s our Merdeka month, and did you watch the badminton match yesterday? We’re smashing through the Olympics with 2 bronze medals!🥉 Congrats to our badminton athletes, Aaron Chia, Soh Woo Yik and Lee Zi Jia who made us beam with pride. I wasn’t an avid sports watcher, but it is so heartwarming to see the entire country becoming one team, supporting, pouring hope and prayers into our badminton athletes in their games! My friends and I ended up having a blast last night as we came across the live stream on YouTube. Haha, it’s so funny that all of us girls were holding each other in excitement and nerves. 😅 This reminds me that just like in badminton, success hinges on a few key principles, highlighting the importance of TEAM: 🏸 Teamwork: Whether it’s doubles or singles, the synergy between players is everything as each move is coordinated and strategized. Similarly, in our work teams, collaboration and cooperation drive us toward our shared goals. 🏸Trust: For doubles, trusting their partners implicitly is a must. At work, trust in your team ensures that tasks are completed efficiently and that everyone can rely on each other’s strengths. 🏸 Support: Athletes have their coaches, trainers, teammates, and supporters who help them through every match. Having a positive and supportive environment in the workplace boosts morale and helps us overcome challenges. Don’t underestimate the power of encouragement—a pat on the back or a kind word can make all the difference! Again, a heartfelt congratulations and thank you to our athletes, aka the heroes! PLAYING TOGETHER, WINNING TOGETHER Leong: “I knew the procedures [GOAL-SETTING - PROCESS] leading to the championships and what to expect [COPE-ABILITY] during the tournament.” “Winning the gold medal for Singapore meant everything to me as I dreamt of representing Singapore when I was a kid, [B1 – OUTCOME]” Nura: “I learnt a lot last year and I figured that I should apply what I’ve learnt into this year’s Asian Juniors, such as relaxation techniques during my mental training sessions. [COMPOSURE] I applied it to my game today and also helped my teammates [COHESION] by reminding them to drink water throughout.” Tan: “The fighting spirit within the team [COHESION] played a huge role in my performance today, as my teammates and I made sure to maintain a high energy level [COMPOSURE] and keep cheering each other on [COHESION], even after bad shots [COPE-ABILITY].” *LESSONS: (1) Having high levels of mental toughness involves being ready for the challenges ahead and managing expectations effectively. (2) Learning from past experiences and adapting mental toughness strategies helps one to cope with unexpected situations. (3) Having a strong emotional connection to one's team, country, and personal goals drives athletes to perform at their best. 🍺 🥾🏸🐝👾🚍 What do cider/beer tastings, hiking in the Himalayas, badminton, beekeeping, building an arcade machine from scratch, and traveling across the US by public transport all have in common? 🎤✨ Since 2019, they have all been the subjects of over fifty Open Mic sessions at Kuba’s Denmark office in Copenhagen. Open Mic is a regular Friday morning social event where we eat breakfast together, and a colleague shares a short presentation about something they are passionate about. Even during the pandemic, we held Open Mic sessions remotely when possible. Each participant receives a small trophy. In some cases, such as cider tasting and badminton, we organized activities outside office hours, such as brewery tours and a company badminton tournament. Open Mic is a fantastic way to connect with colleagues beyond work; every presentation is met with lots of positivity and curiosity.
