I am a massive believer of story telling and why I religiously follow my big 3 C’s - communication connection and collaboration! My what, my purpose, my big thing is relationships. The positive progress I achieve in what I do is because I am able to have that relationship approach with every single soul I meet. Weather they are just implementing a software in my system or just sending me an invite for a workshop or partner with me on projects! SO this is why storytelling is significant because it allows you connect which then makes communication and collaboration super easy and effective. #storytelling #communication #connection #collaboration

This clip reminded me of the phrase “connect before you correct” is a well-known concept in relational practices, especially in team dynamics, education, and leadership. The idea is that establishing a positive, trusting connection with others should come before offering criticism, corrections, or guidance. When people feel connected and valued, they’re more likely to respond positively to feedback and collaborate effectively. In the context of teams, focusing on building relationships and trust fosters a stronger, more cooperative environment. This relational approach improves communication and helps teams work together more effectively.

Customers must be convinced to buy your company’s products or services, employees and colleagues to go along with a new strategic plan or reorganization, investors to buy (or not to sell) your stock, and partners to sign the next deal. You can ask as many questions as you’d like, but if you’re not willingly listening to the answers, you won’t learn a thing. Listen actively to everyone around you, and you’ll discover secrets that were hidden in plain sight. Finally, it’s the magic of storytelling. Is there anything as powerful as the story? Whether it's your personal story, the larger narratives at play within your industry, or even the global stage itself, stories are fundamental in shaping our future. What’s your superpower?

How to use Storytelling to clarify your problem ➡ Begin by writing a story around your problem. ▫ Who are the protagonists (you and your team)? ▫ What challenges do they face (the problem)? Setting the scene in this way can shed light on the nuances of the issue, making it easier to grasp. This approach forces you to consider the problem from different angles, often revealing underlying issues you hadn't noticed.

If you don’t: • Go outside. • Read books. • Embrace change. • Meet new people. • Start conversations. • Exit your comfort zone. You will think you’re struggling. There are 2 parts to storytelling that I walk people through in my workshops: 1. The Structure - The bare bones of the story. These are the meaningful moments or the key insights you want to share, and I use my "Relate, Challenge, Resolve" framework to help people figure out what those should be. 2. The Details - The flesh that brings your story to life. These are the bits that will stick in your audience's mind. And for this part I use "The 3 Ingredients of Stories" to help people deliver the details in the most impactful way.
