What if the conventional wisdom on perfectionism - that it’s something to be fixed or overcome - is wrong? This week at office hours we're discussing the multifaceted nature and surprising benefits of perfectionism. This conversation is inspired by Monday's episode with psychotherapist and author Katherine Morgan Schafler. Join us on the LinkedIn News Page, Wednesday, August 28th.

yeah my perfectionist shows up when I'm working on projects for others, but notsomuch for myself.
We talk sometimes about what kind of restaurant we are today. Fast and tasty, or 5 star with 9 courses. Sometimes, just affirming as a team, that today we're a little family pit stop, is enough to help us get something out the door.
Who doesn’t LOOOOOVE a GREAT NAP‼️😩😩😩😅
To let go of perfectionism, you need to focus on the process not the outcome.
And why do we always give great advice to others and have a problem taking our own advice. Does anyone have that same issue❓🤔😅🤣

Neurospicy is the intersection of perfectionism and avoidance
I lean into my perfectionism when I am trying to pitch an Idea. I will spend lots of time planning it.
I used to always think my house had to be perfectly clean before we had people over. I started to be a little more relaxed about this, and we have people over a lot more. I realize people don't really care if the house is not totally shiny, they just want to spend time together. Glad I finally came to this idea!

2moFocus on the positives of perfectionism, such as attention to detail, strong work ethic, and persistence, while actively working to minimize the downsides. We should encourage more conversations about finding a healthy balance and avoid getting trapped in the pursuit of unattainable perfection, which can be detrimental to our well-being and stifle creativity. Strive for excellence, not perfection!
