As part of its 2025 Budget, South Korea is set to enhance maternal protection and childcare support. Key updates include: • Raising the upper limit of childcare leave pay to KRW2.5 million for the first 3 months, KRW2 million for months 4-6, and KRW1.6 million thereafter. • Expanding spousal childbirth leave pay from 5 to 20 days. • Immediate monthly payment of 25% of salary for parental leave • Abolish the post-payment system that was given to employees who worked for more than 6 months.
