President ARCON| Global Oncology Consultant| Policy development and implementation strategist | Public Speaker | Strategy expert focused on fortifying the Oncology healthcare system in Africa
Today, is International Women's Day!!! I stand on the shoulders of countless inspiring women who have paved the way in oncology and celebrate not only their achievements but also our ongoing journey towards inclusion and equality. Inclusion is not just a buzzword; it's a necessity in the fight against cancer. Diversity of thought, experience, and perspective fosters innovation, drives progress, and ensures that every patient receives the best possible care. Yet, despite strides made, disparities persist. We must actively dismantle barriers that hinder women's participation and advancement in oncology. This means challenging unconscious biases, creating equitable opportunities for leadership and mentorship, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented women. Together, let us commit to building a more inclusive and equitable world where every woman in oncology can thrive, contribute, and lead. The journey towards inclusion is ongoing, but with determination, solidarity, and unwavering support, we will continue to make strides towards a brighter, more equitable future for all. Happy International Women's Day! Let us celebrate the past, honor the present, and pave the way for a more inclusive tomorrow. Women physicians make up approximately 38% of physicians overall within the United States. While this number has increased over the years, it is still not good enough, especially considering over half of the U.S. population is women. We believe equitable representation makes us all better and that's why Vituity's women physicians inspire us every day. They are change-makers and trail blazers and leaders, inspiring future women physicians. In honor of #nationalwomenphysiciansday, we want to know who is a women physician that inspires you? Share with us in the comments below! #WomensPhysicianDay #WomenInMedicine #UpliftWomen #EmpowerWomen

Comfort Zones - we all have one. They feel safe because, for us, they are either predictable or we feel more in control. But their predictability is usually the piece that ends up holding us back because growth, evolution, and strength are what happens when you push yourself, when you take the leap, and when in spite of your fears, you still say "yes." If you've been on the fence about attending one of our events near you or joining because you're not sure what it will be like, all we can say is that the best way to learn about Women to Women Network is to experience it. Get outside of your comfort zone - you may be pleasantly surprised by what waits for you on the other side. https://lnkd.in/gcEMp3p5

Women in Life Science Denmark is marking International Day of Women & Girls in Science Feb 11th by participating in a podcast from Optimum Strategic Communications on breaking barriers and finding your inner stone age hunter! We have always been teached, that in the stone age, which constitutes 90% of human kind’s time on earth, the man went out hunting – killing the big animals - and the woman gathered berries and roots and watched the offspring in the camp. This image has shaped the general perception of male and female basic instincts. The man is the hunter and the woman is the gatherer. HOWEVER IT TURNS OUT NOT TO BE TRUE – let’s have a look at the facts: A wide range of scientific studies world-wide now show that women in the stone age were also hunters. A specific study on 63 hunter-gatherer societies from North- and South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania showed that in 80% of the societies, women were hunting as a normal routine, handling large weapons and killing big animals. The 20th century anthropologists, ethnographers and archaeologists have simply suppressed a traditional gender perspective on the hunter-gatherer societies, assuming that hunter graves contained male skeletons - but it has turned out that up to 1/3 of the skeletons were women! This challenges the general perception of basic male and female instincts and the distinct gender roles that we have been teached during our upbringing. THE TRUTH IS THAT WOMEN HAVE BEEN HUNTERS ALL ALONG! WE HAVE THE POWER WE HAVE THE COURAGE and WE HAVE THE INSTINCTS TO GO OUT IN THE FIELD AND WIN THE BATTLE So dear women and girls – we just want to encourage you to find your inner stone age hunter – and go out there and win the battle, get the job or education that you want or fight for achieving the goals that you have set in the job or study that you already have. Happy Monday, everyone! As we walk into a new month filled with significance and empowerment, let's shine a light on two important observances close to our hearts: Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month. 🚺 Women's History Month: Throughout March, myObMD.org will honor the extraordinary achievements and contributions of women who have shaped history and transformed our world. From trailblazing scientists to fearless activists, women have been at the forefront of progress, inspiring us all to dream, achieve, and advocate for equality. Let's celebrate the resilience, strength, and leadership of women everywhere! 💛 Endometriosis Awareness Month: March is also a time to raise awareness about endometriosis, a complex and often misunderstood condition that affects millions of individuals worldwide. Endometriosis can cause chronic pain, infertility, and other debilitating symptoms, yet it remains underdiagnosed and undertreated. Let's unite to amplify the voices of those living with endometriosis, advocate for better understanding and support, and work towards improved care and research. What are your thoughts on Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month? How can we continue to support and empower women, both in healthcare and beyond? Let's connect and inspire each other to strive for progress and equality.
