Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting our guests from EDB and the global leadership team of a company new to Singapore, showcasing our sustainability efforts in manufacturing. While our industries may differ, there are striking parallels between the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries. We share a common ambition to achieve sustainability and to strengthen Singapore's technological capabilities on the global stage.
A key takeaway from our discussion was the importance of our ‘community of partners’ in Singapore, how our industry peers and government agencies come together to address common challenges and overcome obstacles. This collaborative environment is unique and has enabled a number of breakthroughs in carbon abatement, water reclamation, and waste recycling. As an island nation, we are acutely aware of the impact of climate change and the urgent need to act. There is an unspoken understanding that we are all in this together.
Thank you RuiXiong Wong, Ph.D. for arranging this visit and to Xinyi Teoh, Ng Wei Qiang and Hsuan Te Phua for the invaluable support you have always provided. Together, we are creating exciting opportunities for growth and cross-learning that will benefit Singapore's manufacturing ecosystem as a whole!
