More than 90% of cybersecurity spending goes through partners. The cybersecurity channel grew 8.6% to US$18.5 billion last quarter. Cybersecurity technology spending through the channel accounted for 91.6% of the total $20.3 billion market. More than two thirds of the total cybersecurity market went through two-tier partners via distributors - 67.9% of total spend, according to Canalys data. One-tier partners represented 23.7%. The remaining 8.4% was sold direct. Here’s some of the partner updates from top vendors: • CrowdStrike signed distributor agreements with SB&C in Japan and Ignition in the UK and the Nordics. It strengthened its relationships with GSIs, including HCLTech, TCS, Deloitte and EY, as well as Dell. • Palo Alto Networks enabled partners in EMEA and APAC to sell its software via private listings on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace, having purchased from Westcon-Comstor. This uses the DSOR program. • SentinelOne expanded its distributor agreement with Exclusive Networks, giving partners access to its XDR offering. It also signed Sherweb, which will add SentinelOne to Sherweb’s marketplace for MSPs. • Sophos expanded its distributor relationship with Infinigate Group to the UK. • ESET updated its Partner Connect Program with an annual rebate to incentivize renewals, and a 90-day onboarding and training program for new partners. • Zscaler announced plans to evolve its partner strategy to an ecosystem model, which aims to expand the types of partners it engages with, covering technology alliances, simplifying procurement and encouraging partners to collaborate on customer projects.

As always, a very insightful summary by Canalys. - Notable how cybersecurity (SaaS) vendors are evolving and strengthening distribution across various markets. - Crucial to observe how alignment between channel partners and distributors is managed to avoid conflicts and create synergy, leveraging cloud marketplaces for scale. - Emphasis on training and simplification to ease business operations and accelerate growth through partners. - Spending distribution: direct (~8%), one-tier partners (~24%), and two-tier partners (~68%). Despite a slowdown after previous exuberance, growth remains healthy, just awaiting a significant event to accelerate again! #Cybersecurity #SaaS #Partners #StrategicDistribution #Channels #BusinessGrowth

Really great insights from Steven Kiernan and the team at Canalys, highlighting the importance of the channel and the huge opportunity that #cybersecurity represents. The numbers certainly reflect what e92plus is seeing, especially the growth in web, email and endpoint solutions, and the continued success of #MSP and #MSSP offerings. There's a lot of movement and uncertainty in the market (influenced in part by economic factors, and no doubt waiting to see what happens after 4th July), and there is continued convergence of VAR and MSP to help meet customer requirements for flexibility and services. However, the fundamentals remain strong, in particular where vendors offer a platform or strong integration with other solutions. Overall though, it's a positive picture for the cybersecurity channel!
