[EVENT] 📅 Register before the 1rst of April to AILM2024 ! Biomolecular NMR spectroscopy provides invaluable insights into macromolecular structures, dynamics and interactions. Such studies require the production of macromolecules (proteins or nucleic acids) that have been enriched with NMR-visible stable isotopes. Recent advances in isotopic labelling techniques have allowed increasingly complicated biomolecular systems to be investigated by NMR spectroscopy. From 28-31 May, the Advanced Isotopic Labelling Methods for Integrated Structural Biology International Workshop (AILM 2024) will focus on the development of isotopic labelling techniques and their application to the study of biomolecular structure and dynamic. An Instruct Practical School on Advanced Isotopic Labelling Methods for NMR will be organized from 21st to 27th May and will provide both practical and theoretical training in state-of-the-art isotopic-labelling approaches for NMR studies. Several fellowships are available to assist young researchers with accomodation expenses during AILM2024. #MAF2024 - 18th International Conference on Methods and Application in Fluorescence - A light-bringing conference with far-reaching emission for future collaborations and groundbreaking research 💡 I am grateful for the invitation to the #MAF2024 conference and the opportunity to contribute to the topics of ultrafast spectroscopy and single molecule at the impressive Palacio de Congresos de Valencia. As part of the interdisciplinary project Smart Interfaces #SmInt of the #HochschuleNiederrhein, my work focuses on the simultaneous optimization of enzymes and surfactants, taking into account their mutual influence. The primary focus is on investigations using fluorescence correlation spectroscopy 🔬. I would like to extend my gratitude to the organising team, led by Julia Pérez Prieto and Miguel Ángel Miranda, for their efforts in organising an excellent conference and facilitating dialogue between scientists from all over the world. The research conducted by Charles University Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw, University of Alberta, Université Paris-Saclay, Ostravská univerzita was made possible through the advanced features of the CIPRES Gateway, underscoring its significance in their scientific endeavors. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in conferences and congresses in various countries. 🌍 Recently, I presented my PhD results at the 20th International Conference of Young Scientists on Energy and Natural Sciences Issues in Lithuania. 🎤 In my PhD studies, I am looking technologies that could help trees become more adaptive and resistant to stress factors. 🌳🌲 The results presented in this presentation showed that pre-sowing seed treatment with electromagnetic field increases the activity of antioxidant capacity in Norway spruce needles. 🌲 The increase in the activity of antioxidant enzymes leads to a reduction in reactive oxygen species in plant cells, which means that plants have higher immunity against biotic and abiotic stress in the future. 🧑🔬 #lammc #cyseni2024

Can eukaryotes fix nitrogen now too? Yes, a marine algae can! 🔬 Scientists discovered proof of the nitroplast! This nitrogen-fixing organelle evolved from the integration of a nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria, Candidatus Atelocyanobacterium thalassa, with the marine algae Braarudosphaera bigelowii. 🧬 The Study's Findings: The scientists followed algal cell division with soft X-ray tomography and observed that each daughter cell inherits one cyanobacteria, demonstrating its integral role within the algal architecture.
