Here's a shoutout to my colleagues and the excellent work they do to grow IP awareness among prospective founders (for free, of course). www.canada.ca/ip-advisors (Yes, Canada's IP Office offers this for free!!). - They give free seminars and personal meetings to answer questions about IP. - They meet with inventors who are unfamiliar with Intellectual Property (IP). - They explain why IP is important and show them how IP works. - They give examples of IP and can identify what IP rights may apply to innovators' creations. - They show them the common mistakes people make and how to avoid them. - They point creators to the right place for information and professional help. ...then these innovators can make informed decisions about if and how they can proceed with their creations to collaborate, build prototypes, showcase or look for investors. These creators are often pre-seed, zero revenue, bootstrapping individuals still months and years from becoming a start-up. Many of them are not selected for / eligible to / aware of other programming the government has made available for IP assistance and end up going back to the drawing board to come back stronger and in a better position to extract value from their IP. Do you have a group of aspiring entrepreneurs? We'll teach them IP. For free, of course. https://lnkd.in/eQpqt94i
