CONFERENCE 29-30 JANUARY: The NordForsk funded research project "Critical Understanding of Predictive Policing" (CUPP) invites you to its final conference on predictive policing. The conference takes place at the IT-Universitetet i København. The overall goal of this conference is to better understand what law enforcement and predictive policing have become today, with the ongoing digital transformation and platformisation of key functions of the police organisation. With two conference days, several panels and 10 parallel tracks with almost 40 presentations, the researchers are aiming for multi-faceted and productive conversations. In total, up to 200 participants are expected, comprising researchers as well as practitioners and concerned citizens with an interest in the implications of an increasingly digital police. 🎖️CEPP’s Top 10 Accomplishments in 2023🎗️ We added important new resources to our growing library to support criminal justice professionals. CEPP’s resources serve as practical guides and evidence-based investigations for the criminal justice field. In 2023, we published a total of 22 new resources and stories, including A Case Study on the HealthLink Diversion Tool, which looks at the operational challenges of implementing evidence-based tools in policing. CEPP’s Advancing Pretrial Policy & Research (APPR) initiative developed several educational infographics and reports for the pretrial field, including What Is a Pretrial Detention Hearing? and Counsel at First Appearance.

A recently published book titled "Governing Police Stops Across Europe," edited by Elizabeth Aston, Mike Rowe, János Fazekas, Genevieve Lennon, and sofie De Kimpe, features a contribution from Wojciech Jasiński, a member of the Digital Justice Center team. 🌟 Wojciech co-authored, together with János Fazekas, Giulia Lasagni, and Genevieve Lennon, the chapter "Legal Remedies for Victims of Unlawful Police Stops: European and Domestic Contexts."
