In order to investigate different types of flagella, we 3D print rigid flagella in-house that allows control over the geometry and flexibility of the structure. We mix the base and catalyst of a silicone-based polymer (VPS), with some iron filings to control density, and form a liquid mixture. We then set the mixture in a pre-built PVC mold. The mold is twisted into various helical shapes. The liquid mixture cures inside the helical mold in a few minutes. We then cut open the mold to get soft helical (analog) flagella. A little machining knowledge per day---Laser marking Logo. >A surface treatment process using CNC+laser. >Using a high laser energy beam to illuminate the product's surface, vaporize, and melt it, achieving an engraving effect. >Advantage: Faster and pleasing appearance. Logos can exist forever, will not fade, and will not wear. >Thickness: 0.02-0.05mm depth usually. Note: >Laser marking logo can not create color itself. The color of the logo depends on the product's raw material. >Laser marking on the front of the product is cheaper than marking on the side.

3 hidden issues experts don’t dare tell you (but we will). 1️⃣ Engraving Stylus - The stylus is the most important tool for a consistent engraving result. Now, there are the obvious stylus fractures that are more than obvious, and then there are tip fractures which are quite hard to identify. They are also hard to identify for you as a packaging printer but will create inconsistent results. 2️⃣ Sliding Shoe and Burr Cutter - The other two essential tools of an engraving machine. There are many things impacting the wear of these tools, and they are very sensitive to unfavorable circumstances like bad copper quality. Compromised tools could easily lead to toning issues during your print run. 3️⃣ Cell Geometry - Aligned with your fingerprint, any deviations from your reference specs will cause you more setup-waste due to ink adjustments since the cylinder will just not provide your expected results. There are many reasons this can occur during the engraving process, and it needs smart technology to get on top of it. Part of the time-lapse video here is also a step that is called "Certified Engraving".
