Interesting story - re AI ‘personal’ greeting sent to employees by Publicis ad agency. I love the fact it managed 100k bespoke messages/videos/graphics, recognised first names, employee’s interests as well as their languages. Publicis used its ‘Marcel’ platform of stored personnel data which I assume they have permissions to exploit. One film features Carla Serrano, Publicis Groupe’s chief strategy officer, thanking Eva, a sport-loving group managing partner in Austria, while taking part in mountaineering, a tennis match and ballet. Other films feature an AI version Maurice Lévy, chairman of the supervisory board of Publicis Groupe, wakeboarding, skydiving and throwing a lasso. The why has been answered - they did it because they can. Allegedly the finance department were delighted and it is an amazing project. I assume all employees applauded and have a fantastic story to tell to friends and family. It’s a great PR coup too. I’m wondering if anyone felt slightly gypped at a robotic Christmas message, disappointed they’re just one of 100k and frustrated that the CEO thinks this is personal. I discussed this campaign with my young team, who live and love AI, but they were all unanimous that this wasn’t cool. What do you think? #AI #Publicis #HR #bespokecommunications

With the recent advancements in generative AI video, we wanted to see how these tools can fit into our creative process and impact our future work. So, we took on a challenge: Create a 100% AI-generated ad for Culture Pop Soda We chose a concept that would have been extremely challenging for our small team to bring to life under typical budgets and timelines and made sure every single pixel (including music and VO) was 100% AI-generated. The goal was to create something we’d proudly deliver to a client—something good, not just "good for AI”— because our clients don’t care what tools we use—they just want fun, effective creative. This project pushed creative boundaries and gave us insight into how this tech can elevate our work moving forward. While we may not go for 100% AI in the future, we’re excited to seamlessly integrate these tools with our expertise. The creative bar has been raised—and we’re ready for what’s next. Are we removing the art from artists in the name of technology? Some testing ground for this burning question appears to be Instagram with its new "Made with AI" label. But how accurately does it signify the interplay between human creativity and AI advancements? You might be surprised. The label, as of now, lacks the subtle interpretations the creatives might expect. For instance, using AI-powered tools for minute adjustments such as retouches,—even as simple as removing a highlight—ends up tagged with the weighty "Made with AI" label. Is it fair to portray an artist's effort as entirely AI-rendered? The inconsistency in labeling across varied platforms and devices only deepens the confusion. A more nuanced approach might serve better—labeling images based on the specific AI tools used. Let's take it another step and envision a world where we don't just recognize the final product but appreciate the technological tools, level of creative input, and nuances that bring images to vivid life. Isn't it time to dovetail AI into our creative projects in a more distinct, insightful, and respectful manner? To create an ecosystem wherein human and AI influences are recognized distinctly?
