Little Diversified Architectural Consulting’s Post

Buildings have come a long way since the 1980s, becoming more advanced and interconnected. Initially, technology deployment focused primarily on HVAC and lighting controls and, typically, was limited to individual buildings without remote management. Today, smart buildings use various sensors to monitor parameters like temperature, light, noise, occupancy, vibrations, and air quality. These sensors are integrated to improve operational efficiency and elevate the overall experience for building occupants.   Despite these exciting developments, there are still challenges in delivering a fully integrated smart building to support the office of the future. Director of Little's Smart Building Studio, David Stephenson, CFM, identifies key hurdles and shares how to develop a successful smart building strategy. His expert insights were recently published in Work Design Magazine.
