Will you join us in supporting Rebecca and Adolf’s precious preemie as she battles hydrocephalus? Just over six weeks ago, we first reached out to introduce Rebecca and Adolf’s precious daughter and preemie warrior to you. We asked for your generosity and support with the first temporary shunt placement surgery for her. Since then, this brave little one has undergone two surgeries on the shunt placement. We’re thrilled to share that they were discharged from NICU 2.5 weeks ago, to another ward and remained on admission in the hospital until just yesterday. Thanks to your support, we were able to facilitate their discharge home and ensure that they are able to settle back into life outside of hospital in the days ahead. However, the journey isn’t over yet. Baby’s next milestone is reaching a weight of 2kg to be able to undergo surgery for a permanent shunt. We are going to ensure that she will get the care she needs to reach that weight goal and remain healthy. For this next crucial procedure, anticipated post-surgical care expenses along with other medical related costs and outstanding amounts from previous procedures is approximately GHC30k. In total, we aim to raise at least GHC 35,000 to cover these expenses and have some left over for parental support to her parents to ensure this little fighter receives the ongoing care she deserves. Mum, Rebecca and dad, Adolf are loving parents who are committed to love, fiercely protect and fight for their tiny precious daughter. However, they really can’t do it all alone. Your contribution, big or small, makes a difference in their journey towards health and happiness. THANK YOU to everyone that has made a donation so far. Please, let’s come together once again to make a difference in her life and get her through the planned procedure to allow her to reach her next milestone. Today, I had the opportunity to donate blood at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore for a friend's mother, who is about to undergo heart surgery. This experience reminded me of a few important lessons: 1. Small actions can have a big impact. Something as simple as donating blood can help save a life. 2. Health is a shared responsibility. We all have the power to support each other during tough times. 3. Giving back feels fulfilling. Acts of kindness not only help others but also bring a sense of personal fulfillment. Have you ever had the chance to donate blood or help someone in need? How did it make you feel? #BloodDonation #LifeLessons #SaveLives #GiveBack #HelpingOthers

🩸 Give the Gift of Life: Donate Blood Today! 🩸 Every two seconds, someone in the world needs blood. Whether it’s for a cancer patient, a trauma victim, or someone undergoing surgery, your donation can make a life-saving difference. Today, I had the privilege of donating blood and it was a truly rewarding experience. The process was quick, safe, and nearly painless, but the impact it can have on someone’s life is immense. Here’s why you should consider donating: Save Lives: One donation can save up to three lives. Community Impact: Blood is needed every day in hospitals and emergency treatment facilities. Personal Health Benefits: Donating can help maintain healthy iron levels and even has been linked to reduced risks of certain health issues. If you’re healthy and eligible, I encourage you to find a local blood donation center and take an hour out of your day to make a huge difference. Together, we can ensure that blood is available whenever and wherever it is needed. #BloodDonation #GiveLife #CommunitySupport #Health #DonateBlood

"Donating blood is a small act of kindness that can make a big difference in someone's life." Blood donation is crucial because it saves lives. It is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. Each donation can help multiple patients, as blood can be separated into its components: red cells, platelets, and plasma. Regular donations ensure a stable supply of blood, ready for emergencies and routine medical needs, thus contributing significantly to public health. #BloodDonation #SaveLives #GiveBlood #DonateBlood #BloodDonors #BeAHero #LifeSaver #CommunitySupport #Healthcare #BloodDrive #BloodSupply #BloodTransfusion #PublicHealth #MedicalCare #HealthMatters #SupportLife #NonProfit #Charity #Volunteering #HealthAwareness #MakeADifference #GiveBack #HumanityFirst #EmergencyCare #LifeSaving #DonateToday #DHASuffaUniversity DHA Suffa University The Indus Hospital

April is national Donate Life month. As the daughter of a kidney and pancreas recipient, I know first hand the importance of donating organs, eyes & tissues. These acts of generosity and compassion, gave me an extra 15 beautiful years with my mom.....if you're able, please consider donating! Remember, to the world you may be just one person, but to one person....you just may be THE WORLD! 💙 💚 ⭐ *Nationally, more than 100,000 people are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. *Every day, 17 people die waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. *Only 3 in 1,000 people die in a way that allows for deceased organ donation. That’s why every donor registration counts. *You are more likely to need a transplant in your lifetime than you are to be a donor after you pass away. *Sometimes there is a complete and irreversible loss of brain function. The patient is declared clinically and legally dead. Only then is donation an option. *Anyone, regardless of age or medical history, can sign up to be a donor. *There is a medical evaluation at the time of death, so don’t rule yourself out of saving and healing lives. *Myths about donation can keep people from registering as donors. *Your life always comes first. Doctors work hard to save every patient’s life. *Organ, eye and tissue donation does not interfere with an open casket funeral. Throughout the entire process, the body is treated with care and respect. *Registering relieves a major stressor from your family because they’ll know exactly what you wanted. ****Donation gives your family a legacy they can find strength and comfort in, should the unthinkable happen. 💙 💚 ⭐ #donatelife #beasuperstar

#positivityinaction #blooddonation #artofliving #contribution #lifestyle A few days ago, I had posted a call for Blood Donation camp by Art of Living volunteers for the thalassemia-affected children. An update from that camp is that we have been able to muster #19 donations towards the cause, mine included. Felt good that I could make a successful donation. While I am no committed crusader like Kiran Verma who has been doing his walk across India with #21000kmsWalk to raise awareness on the need for #blooddonation, I first got to learn about the importance of blood donation from House of Tatas #tatamotors where I had the start of my career. I might have personally clocked about 25 blood donations so far, not a huge number by any means, but hopefully counts as a small bit as the cause is huge. There is also a personal reason behind this, during the big surgeries of both my parents had to undergo we needed 5 units of blood each time. Once it was in 2001 for my late mother for her bilateral TKR(total knee replacement) and another time for my father in early 2008 for his CABG(Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery). During both occasions, for mustering 5 units I had to approach a number between 100 to 200 people at a minimum. Mind you in both occasions mine was the first donation and mustering the other four, it was taking almost a week or ten days of a concerted effort with so much ready access to many potentially able blood donors. Maybe the situation might be a little better now with increased awareness of blood donation, I really don't know but my point in highlighting this is as an individual this problem will hit sooner or later to most people when they personally experience this problem. One more point that I would like to share is the over 15 people who showed up for the recent blood donation had to be turned away due to lower BP readings. Many of these youngsters are in their 20s/30s is a worrisome trend, as commitment alone does not work in this aspect, one needs to have the physical/physiological capability too and that possibly is the larger #lifestyle problem we all would be contending with in times to come. Thank you for stopping by! Please highlight your own #positivityinaction stories.

An experienced leader with a real passion for all things People. Currently working as a Workforce & Dispatch Manager
Hi LinkedIn! Unfortunately this is not a post I ever pictured myself writing, but here we are. I’ll try to keep it short but still informative. On Sunday 7th January in the Philippines, Aldrin Ugay, my 2IC and right hand man in the team that I manage, was in a horrific car accident and suffered a major head injury as a result. Since the accident, he has been in ICU and is in a coma, also requiring a machine to breathe for him. Until he wakes up and is able to breathe on his own again, we are told he needs to remain in ICU. Aldrin will also need a further surgery soon, to re-attach parts of his skull that were removed to reduce the chance of brain damage and swelling. Unlike here in Australia, emergency hospital costs in the Philippines are substantial and are not covered by general healthcare and fall to the patient and their family to pay. At a rate of $800 per day, the costs to keep Aldrin alive are in excess of $15,000 and they will continue to increase until he is transferred out of ICU. Sadly, even once Aldrin wakes and is out of ICU, there’s potentially a long road ahead for him as he will need complex rehabilitation in order to return to every-day life (and then eventually, to work). Rehabilitation is another cost that he and his family will be required to pay, so that he is able to recover and Aldrin will obviously not have been working or receiving a salary during this time either. The company Aldrin and I work for, First Focus IT, has made a generous donation, which is very much appreciated, so thank you First Focus! Unfortunately though, since the costs are accumulating at such a high rate, I am now reaching out to ask for help from those in my professional network. If anyone in my network is in a position to donate to help Aldrin and his family, it would be truly appreciated. I have created a gofundme and the link is: https://lnkd.in/gimEBwQF Any size donation goes a HUGE way to helping us keep Aldrin cared for, giving him the best chance of survival and eventually recovery ❤️🩹 Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your generosity. For those who want to help but aren’t in a position to donate (times are challenging at the moment for some), feel free to repost this, to help it reach more people. Have a great week everyone!
