Community managers know that resident engagement is key to building a thriving community. Here are some tips to improve engagement in your community: 💠Host regular events like town-hall meetings, workshops or recreational activities. Events are a great way for residents to connect with each other and engage more deeply with the community. 💠 Start a social media network for your community, it could be as simple as a WA groups for important announcements and other types of engagement. Social networks make it easy for residents to stay up to date on news and events, ask questions, and build connections. 💠Send out regular calendars with important community updates, events and activities. 💠Conduct regular surveys to understand what residents need and want. Use the feedback to make improvements to engagement programs and better serve your residents. 💠Form a resident advisory committee. Giving residents leadership roles in the community is a powerful way to increase their engagement and participation. By providing abundant opportunities for connection and listening to residents' needs, you'll be on your way to building an engaged, vibrant community. The rewards of high engagement are well worth the effort!

Poor community relations impact/risks on operations located near community: 1. Negative public perception: Poor community relations can lead to a negative public perception of the company, which can damage its reputation and brand image. This can result in decreased customer loyalty and trust, as well as potential boycotts or protests against the company. 2. Regulatory challenges: Poor community relations can lead to increased scrutiny from regulatory authorities, who may impose stricter regulations or penalties on the company. This can result in higher operating costs and potential legal issues for the company. 3. Employee morale and retention: Poor community relations can also impact employee morale and retention, as employees may feel demotivated or embarrassed to work for a company that is viewed negatively by the community. This can lead to higher turnover rates and difficulty attracting top talent. 4. Business disruptions: Negative community relations can also lead to business disruptions, such as protests, blockades, or vandalism of company property. These disruptions can impact operations, supply chains, and overall business performance. 5. Loss of social license to operate: Ultimately, poor community relations can result in the loss of social license to operate in a particular area. This means that the company may face increased resistance from the community and struggle to maintain its presence or expand its operations in that location. Overall, poor community relations can have significant impacts on a company's operations, reputation, and bottom line. It is important for companies to prioritize building positive relationships with their surrounding communities in order to mitigate these risks and ensure long-term success.

This highlights an incredible point Louise Morris 👇about the current reality of fundraising recruitment. There is an emphasis on only wanting candidates from within the nonprofit or fundraising sectors when there is a wealth of talent and a fresh flux of new ideas for generating income outside the sector. 💡 Skills like account management, business development, and relationship and partnership management are not industry-specific; they are transferable skills. It has also been proven to bring impact and effectiveness to fundraising teams. 🙌 The success of recent fundraising recruitment processes and some income generation teams has been the willingness to look at candidates from a broader range of sectors, or candidates that may not possess all of the silks listed in the job spec. They have the relevant skills, they can learn fundraising terminology and techniques as they go. 💫 #fundraisingrecruitment #fundraising #incomegeneration
Why, why, why isn't the sector more open to recruiting talent from other sectors into fundraising roles? I've heard horror stories of hugely talented relationship and account managers not even getting interviews for Philanthropy roles. Why? Because they haven't done a similar fundraising role before. Because they've been gaining oodles of experience and talent in a different sector. Why is this a negative? Because I keep hearing that it often feels impossible to fill major donor and philanthropy roles. And that managers want to diversify their teams. Well, that diversity includes diversity of thought and experience. And let's face it, with the amount of white women working in fundraising already, if we only fill roles from existing fundraisers, that's hardly going to solve the problem. Yet it can be done! ✅ One of the best major donor fundraisers I've met - fearless, loved networking, built rapport amazingly well - came from the private sector. ✅I moved across to my first fundraising role from a career in sales at Unilever ✅I met the most amazing new major gifts fundraiser last week who is going to bring to her team: structure, perseverance, ability to get on the phone, and build relationships amazingly well. They've moved from recruitment. Their manager is so open to bringing in talent to her team from outside fundraising. Not being able to find the candidates is one thing. But not entertaining and appreciating the quality of experience people have from different sectors is quite another. Am I being overly pessimistic? Are you seeing things change? Please say yes!

Bilingual (Spanish) HR Executive |Global Diversity & Inclusion Expert| Talent Development| Compliance| High-Volume Recruitment, Fractional HR Consultant| Global HR| Onboarding| Start Up Operations
Starting the day with grassroots work alongside Leo Vasquez at the 2024 Dallas Youth Soccer Spring Kickoff summarize the essence of proactive community engagement. For organizations like FC Dallas and North Texas Soccer Club, this approach is not just beneficial but necessary in today's competitive labor market. Getting out into the community, instead of remaining desk-bound, symbolizes a dynamic and creative strategy in recruiting and branding. This hands-on involvement at events like the Spring Kickoff allows for direct interaction with the community, fostering a genuine connection and awareness of the local soccer scene. It's a vivid demonstration of how organizations can effectively brand themselves and attract talent in an era where traditional recruitment methods are increasingly seen as insufficient. By stepping out of the office and into the community to recruit, i are not just waiting for applicants to come to me; i am actively seeking them out. This proactive stance is essential in today's labor pool, where competition is fierce, and standing out requires innovation and a personal touch. Ending the day at Toyota Stadium, the home of FC Dallas, signifies more than just a change of location; it represents the full circle of dedication to the world of sports and what it takes to work in HR and the community. This transition from grassroots efforts in the morning to the professional environment of the stadium in the evening underscores the comprehensive commitment to working at FC Dallas, blending community engagement with professional responsibilities seamlessly. If you are looking to work with an HR professional that is down to earth give me a ring and let’s talk about opportunities that we may have for you!!

I work in Kansas City, Mo., but on LinkedIn, I follow people from all around the globe! I love following along and seeing people post about the networking events they attend, what they're doing out in the community, or what's going on inside their city. But, what I love the most is seeing people who share what their Company is doing, any openings within their Company, or what they're most proud of at work! To me, it shows that they feel good about where they work, they see it as a great place to work, their proud of it and it's culture and accomplishments, and/or they are happy to just be a part of it all. I love seeing these types of posts! How about you? What do you like to see on LinkedIn? #linkedinpolls #kcmo
