You might need to hear this 👇🏽 (I definitely did). It’s been MONTHS since I created anything - The strikes got me down. My belief in myself vanished. And all my trust in art disappeared. Now? I 🎨 Can’t 🎨 Stop. I’m: - Letting myself try new crafts. - Painting everything I find. - Recording every step. - CREATING again. (🤣🙏🏽) And the best bit? It all starts with one flick of the 🧠 switch. All you have to do is ask yourself this: 👉🏽 What’s *really* holding you back? Is it… • Your fear of fun? • Your fear of failure? • Your fear of being ‘unproductive’? Or is it more of the question of… *Who* is holding you back? And WHY? My life started to go uphill again when I focused on ✨ ENJOYMENT & EXPLORATION ✨ again rather than money, money, money. ….Or being productive 24/7. …Or always having to plough on forward (like a madman). It can be easier said than done in times like these… But your inner child is still within you. Having recently run a Girls’ Night Fun Drawing Party where everyone drew a series of different short poses but laughed and joked throughout - I then wanted to reflect on why some people may feel uncomfortable or hesitant about drawing nudes:   For many, drawing nudes can feel invasive or uncomfortable, especially if they are not accustomed to drawing the human form without clothing. It might challenge their personal boundaries or make them feel exposed.   Nudity is often associated with taboo or indecency in many cultures. People may fear judgment or criticism from others if they choose to draw nudes, particularly if they share their work publicly.   Some individuals may have moral or religious objections to nudity, viewing it as inappropriate or sinful. This can create internal conflict and make them reluctant to engage in drawing nudes.   Drawing the human body, especially in its natural form, can be technically challenging. Some artists may feel they lack the confidence or skill necessary to accurately portray nudes, leading to feelings of frustration or inadequacy. However, at my art events, no experience is necessary.   There may be concerns about how their intentions will be perceived by others. Even if the intent is purely artistic, some people worry that their drawings may be misunderstood as sexual or inappropriate.   If drawing from life, models are required who are willing to pose nude. Some may feel uncomfortable asking others to pose in the nude. For my events, not only do I have a selection of lovely models but they also have a fabulous personality.   In certain cultures, nudity is not commonly depicted in art or media. Artists from these backgrounds may not have been exposed to nude figure drawing as a common practice and may feel uncomfortable exploring it.   Overall, the reluctance to draw nudes can stem from a combination of personal, social, cultural, and practical factors. @BenDavis Devon Rodriguez's art is lacking depth and is more of a social and sociopathic phenomenon rather than a genuine expression of creative human capacity. Rodriguez's art comes across as superficial, lacking the intricate layers and complexities associated with great art. It seems to cater to a broader audience more interested in surface-level aesthetics and instant gratification rather than delving into profound artistic concepts. To me, his art seems like a product of social media trends and the desire for attention rather than a sincere exploration of creative depths. I would like to express the concern that in the age of social media and algorithm-driven content, art can be reduced to a superficial and sociopathic endeavor that does not align with my understanding of the true essence of art. Rodriguez's work contributes to the ongoing discourse about the evolving nature of art and its place in the digital age.

You are the sum of the circle you surround yourself with. I heard this expression the other day and it really got me, I know it sounds so simple and my drawing is the simplest explanation of what this means to me. The top image is a person surrounded by likeminded people all willing each other to achieve, do more and be a better person. We give every one of these people a 1, combined this circle gives you 5 plus 1 for you so a total of 6. The bottom image is not 6 doughnuts…its 5 people who aren’t adding anything valuable or looking to further themselves or those around them, they get a 0.  5 0’s + a 0 for the person in the middle and you have a grand total of 0. For me I spent a long time with several 0’s hanging onto me, cutting my circle down to a group of 1’s has meant more personal and professional development. Sure, I sometimes have the odd 0 poke their head in, try to get access to the circle but, as the bouncer once said to me “You aren’t coming in you’re a mess” I think it’s open to interpretation and I could be wrong and the sum of the top circle is 5 but what do you think? Is it time to cut some 0’s and concentrate on some 1’s?
