Littleton Regional Healthcare to Become Sole Owner of Lincoln Urgent Care Site To ensure the continuity of urgent care services in the greater Lincoln region, LRH will assume full ownership and management of the urgent care center located at 33 Railroad Street in Lincoln, NH, effective April 1, 2024. First opened in March of 2022, the center provides comprehensive urgent care and occupational health services to residents and visitors of Lincoln, Woodstock, and surrounding communities and has seen steadily rising volumes over the past two years. The center was initially established as a joint venture between LRH and ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care. With this shift in ownership in April, LRH has committed to retaining all services that individuals in the region have become accustomed to receiving at the center. “We want those who utilize this center, and those who may need to in the future, to know that we are committed to preserving this important regional access point for healthcare,” said Robert Nutter, LRH President and Chief Executive Officer. “The clinic was established to help address the underserved healthcare needs of this region, and based on its usage, we know how important it is to maintain these critical services in this location,” he added. The center currently provides physicals, vaccinations, testing, on-site imaging, and other medical services. Since its inception, the center has been fully supported by the resources and specialties available at LRH and the continuity of care for the patients who rely on these services. It is not uncommon for patients to receive follow-up care in some form directly at LRH. “Increasing access to healthcare is fundamental to our mission, and we will continue to address additional healthcare gaps and needs for those in Lincoln and the surrounding area through the center,” Nutter said. “While there are always outside factors that are beyond our control, we anticipate no disruption to operations at the center during this ownership transition.” Those local to the area and use or pass by the Lincoln center will soon notice a new name and signage with LRH branding, along with other physical updates to reflect the change. LRH opened its first urgent care center in 2019, which is embedded in its Littleton campus. The Lincoln site is one of many satellite clinic locations LRH operates throughout the greater White Mountains region. Photo: Effective April 1, 2024, Littleton Regional Healthcare will retain full ownership of the urgent care center located at 33 Railroad Street in Lincoln, NH. New branding, complete with a new name and signs, will take effect at that time.

Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) are lifelines for rural communities across the United States. Established under the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, these small facilities ensure essential healthcare services in rural areas where access to medical care can be limited. In many regions, CAHs are the only source of immediate healthcare within a reasonable distance. Without them, residents would have to travel long distances, sometimes over 50 miles, to reach the nearest medical facility. This accessibility is not just about convenience; it's a matter of life and death, especially in emergencies where every second counts. Moreover, CAHs significantly contribute to the local economy. They provide jobs to community members, from medical professionals to administrative and support staff, and support local businesses through their operational needs. The economic ripple effect of a CAH can stabilize and even boost the local economy, helping to prevent the decline of rural communities. CAHs offer a broad spectrum of services tailored to their communities' needs, including emergency care, inpatient and outpatient services, laboratory services, radiology, and often specialized services such as rehabilitation and physical therapy. By providing these services locally, CAHs ensure that residents receive comprehensive care without the need to travel. Many CAHs also house rural health clinics (RHCs) that focus on preventive and primary care. These clinics play a crucial role in managing chronic diseases, conducting regular health check-ups, and providing vaccinations, thereby reducing severe health issues and leading to healthier communities. CAHs often enjoy a high level of trust within their communities. Patients feel a personal connection to their local healthcare providers, who are often neighbors and friends. This trust fosters better patient outcomes, as individuals are more likely to seek care and follow medical advice when they have strong, personal relationships with their providers. Despite their smaller size, CAHs often adopt innovative healthcare solutions tailored to their unique circumstances. Telehealth services, for instance, have become a staple in many CAHs, allowing patients to access specialists without the need for long-distance travel. This adaptability ensures that rural communities benefit from advancements in healthcare technology. CAHs are critical in emergency preparedness and response for rural areas. They are often the first line of defense during natural disasters, pandemics, or other emergencies, providing immediate, localized care and significantly mitigating the impact of such events. These hospitals are attuned to the cultural and linguistic needs of their patients, providing care that is respectful and responsive to cultural differences, which is essential for effective healthcare delivery.

Urgent Care Center Market Consumption Analysis, Business Overview and Upcoming Trends 2033 https://lnkd.in/gmZ-9ZuB Urgent Care Center Market is poised to grow at a CAGR of 5.2% during the forecast period (2022 - 2027). The urgent care center market has experienced rapid growth in recent years, driven by several factors including increasing patient demand for convenient and accessible healthcare services, changing healthcare delivery models, and efforts to alleviate emergency department overcrowding. Urgent care centers provide walk-in medical services for patients with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries that require immediate attention but do not necessitate a visit to the emergency room. These facilities offer extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate patients outside of regular primary care office hours, providing a convenient alternative to traditional healthcare settings. One of the key drivers of market growth is the rising consumer preference for urgent care services due to their shorter wait times, lower cost compared to emergency room visits, and ability to provide timely care for minor ailments such as fevers, sprains, cuts, and infections. Moreover, urgent care centers often offer on-site diagnostic services such as X-rays, laboratory testing, and point-of-care testing, allowing for rapid diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, the increasing emphasis on preventive care and population health management has led to the expansion of urgent care services beyond episodic care to include wellness screenings, vaccinations, and chronic disease management. Many urgent care centers also offer telemedicine services, enabling patients to access care remotely for minor health concerns. Furthermore, the urgent care center market has benefited from partnerships and collaborations between healthcare systems, hospitals, physician groups, and retail clinics, driving the integration of urgent care services into broader healthcare networks. These partnerships allow for care coordination, referral management, and seamless transitions of care between urgent care centers and other healthcare providers. The market is also influenced by factors such as demographic trends, healthcare workforce shortages, regulatory changes, and reimbursement policies. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the adoption of urgent care services, with many centers playing a vital role in COVID-19 testing, vaccination efforts, and telehealth services. As Health and patient safety organizations celebrate their milestones and achievements in 2023, this is a reminder that we are in the darkest time for the right to health in our lifetimes, as proven by the facts below: A. Attacks on Healthcare: * At least 364 Israeli attacks on healthcare services have been recorded in the occupied Palestinian territory within the last three months, resulting in at least 553 people killed and 729 injured. (WHO) *More than 50 health facilities and 190 ambulances have been affected. (WHO) *300 health workers reported killed in Israel’s assault on Gaza exceeds all countries in conflict combined in any year since 2016- (MAP). B. Access to healthcare *Twenty-three hospitals have been ordered to evacuate , and forced evacuation in these circumstances would put the lives of hundreds of patients in a life-threatening situation." (WHO) *In less than 60 days, the number of functioning hospitals has dropped from 36 to 18 due to insecurity, damage, and lack of fuel and medical supplies. *The average bed occupancy of those hospitals that remain operational is more than 200%. (MAP) *Infectious diseases are spreading rapidly in overcrowded shelters, with 360,000 cases reported including respiratory infections, diarrhea, hepatitis, and skin diseases. (MAP) C. Chronic Illnesses: *There are 350,000 patients with chronic conditions in Gaza, including cancer and diabetes with no access to treatment and life-saving medications. (UN) *About 1,000 patients in Gaza need kidney dialysis to stay alive, but 80% of the machines are in local hospitals under evacuation orders. (WHO) *Gaza’s only cancer hospital is no longer functioning. (WHO) D. Reproductive Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH): *Thousands of women in Gaza are undergoing cesareans and emergency operations without sterilization, anesthesia or painkillers-(UNFPA). *Last month, the world followed the fate of 39 premature babies trapped in Al-Shifa Hospital, which was besieged and ultimately raided by Israeli forces. Eight of the infants died due to a lack of electricity to run their incubators. *At least a thousand children in Gaza have had their limbs amputated without anesthesia since the War began. (UNICEF) *The war on Gaza has filled hospital wards with patients classified by the abbreviation “WCNSF” – “wounded child, no surviving family”. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Today, the most serious impediment to effective humanitarian action in Gaza remains the lack of intention to protect civilians and the lack of respect for humanitarian operations. Leading health and patient safety organizations must come together and focus their attention and efforts on establishing a ceasefire and ensuring that international humanitarian law does not become a mere afterthought in this crisis. The right to health should apply to all humans on this earth regardless of their nationality, race, or religion. #ceasefirenow #stopthegenocide #gazaunderattack #healthforall

Compassionate Registered Nurse 🔸Medical Virtual Assitant 🔸Expert in Critical Care 🔸Patient Education & Clinical Support 🔸 EMR Tools & Tech Savvy 🔸Dedicated to Delivering Quality outcome & Advocacy.
📌UNDERSTANDING HEDIS AND IT'S IMPACT ON HEALTHCARE QUALITY As a Registered Nurse with a background in telehealth and extensive experience in Medicare, I understand the critical role that quality metrics play in shaping patient outcomes. One such set of metrics is HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set), a vital tool used by more than 90% of America's health plans to measure care and service performance. Whether working in clinical settings or remotely, HEDIS empowers healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the best possible care. 📌What is HEDIS? HEDIS is a standardized performance measurement system created by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). It comprises over 90 measures across six domains of care, focusing on everything from preventive services to chronic disease management. This data helps health plans assess their performance, improve care delivery, and enhance overall patient satisfaction. 📌Why Does HEDIS Matter to Nurses? Nurses are at the forefront of patient care, and understanding HEDIS can significantly enhance our ability to provide top-tier care. These measures guide us in areas like preventive screenings, chronic care management, immunization compliance, and patient education. By adhering to HEDIS measures, we can improve patient outcomes, reduce hospital readmissions, and contribute to a healthier population. Telehealth and HEDIS With the rise of telehealth, the way we measure and report healthcare quality is evolving. Telehealth services now offer an efficient platform for meeting HEDIS metrics, especially in preventive care and chronic disease management. As an RN working in telehealth, I’ve seen firsthand how virtual care can bridge gaps in access and ensure continuity of care, helping health plans meet key HEDIS requirements without compromising quality. The Role of Medicare in HEDIS As Medicare expands its focus on value-based care, HEDIS measures are becoming increasingly important in this space. They allow for the evaluation of care quality in Medicare Advantage plans, ensuring that seniors receive the attention they deserve for preventive care, diabetes management, cardiovascular health, and more. Nurses play a critical role in documenting and adhering to these measures, directly impacting the performance of health plans in Medicare. Moving Forward with HEDIS is not just about data collection—it’s about improving patient care. By understanding and integrating these metrics into daily practice, we, as nurses, can play an essential role in shaping the future of healthcare. Whether in a hospital, a clinic, or through telehealth, our commitment to quality care makes a tangible difference in patients’ lives. Let's continue to leverage tools like HEDIS to promote health, prevent disease, and ensure that care is accessible and equitable for all. #HEDIS #HealthcareQuality #RNLife #Telehealth #NursingLeadership #Medicare #PatientCare
