I once came across the concept of a "working vacation" when I was young, and it’s stuck with me ever since. The idea was simple yet impactful: you’d pay around $2000—quite affordable compared to the typical costs of room, board, and touring. This fee covered everything from meals to transportation, and even included guided tours of the area. But what made it truly unique was the exchange: instead of just being a tourist, you’d spend part of your time volunteering at a sanctuary, perhaps bottle-feeding baby lions, cleaning enclosures (when the animals weren’t in them), painting barns, and more. Imagine how something like this could benefit West Virginia. The state, rich in natural beauty and wildlife, could offer similar experiences—perhaps at animal sanctuaries, conservation areas, or even historical farms. By creating these immersive "working vacations," West Virginia could attract visitors eager for more than just a typical getaway. They’d be contributing to local conservation efforts, learning new skills, and forming connections with both the land and the community. Not only would this bring in tourism dollars, but it could also foster a deeper appreciation for the state’s natural resources and cultural heritage. Volunteers would leave with memories and a sense of accomplishment, while West Virginia would benefit from the added hands-on help and the positive exposure. Is it possible? Absolutely. With the right planning and partnerships, West Virginia could tap into a growing trend of experiential travel, offering visitors a chance to make a difference while enjoying an unforgettable vacation. #SustainableTourism #WestVirginia #ExperientialTravel #Conservation

🌴 Greetings from the stunning island of Baltrum! 🏝️ Last week, I had the privilege of participating in a fascinating seminar on #Storytelling at the idyllic Baltrum. Did you know: 🔶 Baltrum is home to just under 600 residents 🔶 There are no cars on the island – garbage collection is handled by horse-drawn carriages 🔶 There are alpacas on the island. But beware! Alpacas are diabetics and should not eat fruit. Why is further education so crucial? 🤔 Continuing education and #PersonalDevelopment: Further education enables you to acquire new skills and expand existing competencies – a true asset for professional and personal development. #Wellbeing and balance: Taking a break from the daily grind allows you to recharge and strengthen your well-being. A clear mind and fresh perspectives are key to a balanced life. Change of perspective and #inspiration: Further education opens up new horizons and ideas that inspire and motivate us. A change of scenery can work wonders and elevate our creativity to new heights. A special thanks to Deutsche Bank for providing me with the opportunity to take #Bildungsurlaub! PS: my key learnings on storytelling will follow 😉 Do you have any recommended courses for further education? Feel free to share your experiences in the comments! 💡✨ #Baltrum

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗔 🇺🇲 🇨🇦 If there's something good about the #DirectToConsumer business model, it's the relative ease of starting to sell internationally right from the beginning. CROW Bicycles pedaled its first bicycles into the hearts of #USA and #Canada, long before we took the home turf by storm in Spain. Crows are already soaring over #California, #Tennessee, #Ohio, #NewJersey, #Quebec, #Ontario, #BritishColumbia, ... and the flock is only growing larger. But, to keep the flock growing and precisely because the flock is expanding, the second of the steps we have planned for this year, following our landing in the DACH markets we announced last week, is to start fieldwork development in NA. Three touch points with customers: 1.- 🅼🅴🅳🅸🅰, to create awareness, to let them review our egravel bikes 2.- 🅴🆅🅴🅽🆃🆂, to let the people see, touch and test our Crows 3.- 🆆🅾🆁🅺🆂🅷🅾🅿🆂, to ensure our customer a place with support if needed Four objectives in mind: 1.- Awareness 2.- Onboarding 3.- Success 4.- Support With these goals in mind and always prioritizing our customers' requests above all else, we are already collaborating with potential partners who will assist us in this expansion. Stay tuned!!

The ReefTO Taskforce has three objectives! Today, we're highlighting the first. Honouring the decades of work by Elders to assert their cultural authority and rights to sea country and driving genuine partnerships across the Reef, ReefTO is empowering Reef Traditional Owners through the Taskforce to shape the future of the Reef and its interconnected Country. Together, we're building genuine partnerships to protect, manage and nurture the Reef for generations to come. ReefTO has three powerful priorities that we're focused on for the next 2-3 years. Our first objective is to engage with Reef Traditional Owners on options for a Sea Country Alliance (Reef-wide and regionally) and implement the preferred option. How will we do that? Stay tuned for more details about our plan to bring all Reef Traditional Owners together for an initial Sea Country Forum in March 2025! Meanwhile, are you a Reef Traditional Owner who is keen to join as a Taskforce Member? We're looking for four additional Taskforce Members - apply by 11 October 2024! Supporting you to realize your life-dream & self-actualization for a happy, free, successful and purposeful life
Our family adventure: Wild wonders at Addo Elephant Park As our exploration of South Africa draws to a close, I’m compelled to share the enriching experiences from our concluding chapter at Addo Elephant Park. Over the span of four days, our family embarked on two distinct self-driving safaris each day - one capturing the serene beauty of sunrise at 5:30 AM, and another as the park whispered its goodnights at 6:30 PM. Each journey through the park offered a unique palette of emotions, filled with anticipation, wonder, and countless awe-inspiring moments. Our encounters were as varied as they were profound, from the majesty of elephants and zebras to the playful antics of warthogs, the stealth of jackals, the elegance of kudus, the power of water buffaloes, the dance of birds, and the rare sight of rhinos. These experiences, both close and at a distance, not only marked a magnificent culmination to our trip but also reminded us of the vast beauty and diversity our world holds. This adventure transcends the mere act of witnessing wildlife; it’s a vivid illustration of how stepping out of our comfort zones can lead to the most rewarding and transformative experiences. In sharing our journey, i invite you to consider how the pursuit of personal dreams and visions can parallel our professional goals. The unpredictable beauty and lessons learned in Addo underscore the importance of embracing opportunities, nurturing curiosity, and the profound impact of real-world experiences on personal growth and leadership. Let this serve as a catalyst for all of us: to not defer our dreams or sideline our ambitions. Inspired by the natural wonder and unexpected lessons of Addo, I encourage you to take the bold steps towards realizing your personal and professional dreams today. The world is rich with opportunities for those willing to venture. Start now, and let your journey unfold. #Leadership #PersonalDevelopment #Adventure #AddoElephantPark #FamilyJourney #EmbraceTheJourney
