In this scientific article named “Organic Fertilizer Sources Distinctively Modulate Productivity, Quality, Mineral Composition, and Soil Enzyme Activity of Greenhouse Lettuce Grown in Degraded Soil“ it’s possible to find interesting data about the use of insect frass as organic fertilizer. The study focuses on lettuce grown in poor soil. Insect frass fertilizer helped to increase the fresh and dry weight of the lettuce and lowered the levels of leaf nitrates by 27% and toxic heavy metal by 46%. It also improved soil health by boosting enzyme activity. In conclusion, the results suggest that insect frass is a good option for improving soil and plant growth in tough conditions.
