This deck is fantastic. Kudos Ethan Holland If you’re a marketer, think really hard about slide 14. Ethan rightly says page views are going to die soon. This means the standard demand funnel framework that relies on influencing the traffic of a prospect will also cease to exist. Said differently, buyers won’t leave their AI chat agents when researching purchases. As LLMs are updated more frequently using larger, more up-to-date data sets, buyers won’t need to visit company websites or (god forbid) download gated assets. Here are 3 things you should be thinking about right now if you lead strategy in a marketing department: ⭐️ Get smart in content marketing and get it everywhere relevant. You want these LLMs to find and be trained on your content. ⭐️ Sales and marketing teams should be under the same umbrella as generative AI adoption grows. Why? Because soon TRUST will be the most important currency you can deploy in a sales cycle. Buyers will become experts on your solution on their own, which means any live conversation you have with a buyer has to be trustworthy. ⭐️ The funnel isn’t going to be overweight at a particular section. Top of funnel doesn’t need a greater emphasis. Nor does bottom. They all equally need to be better. What I mean by this is that the funnel won’t be sequential, and it won’t be exclusive to one solution. Buyers will bounce around journey stages and products simultaneously- all within their AI agent of choice. This is how gen AI will kill the traditional funnel, and it will be replaced by what I’ll call the “Buyer’s Matrix.” It’s directionless, which means the onus is on the seller to be ready for the buyer wherever they are in that process. #marketingAI #generativeAI #B2Bmarketing #writtenbyahuman (P.S. the last hashtag is important going forward. Your audience will want to know what you’ve written, what AI has helped with, and what you’ve used AI for in total).
