Personal development products and live events are a large part of our online business. We are a husband and wife team, Berni and Michael Ireland, and we’ve been married for nearly 40years. 🌻 My (Berni’s) background is in teaching initially, then for the past 20 years I have been in coaching and training in the health industry. I particularly love transformational coaching, and training on communication. 👷♂️Michael’s background is in construction specifically commercial air conditioning. His long commutes and heavy work were the main reason we have opted for our online business. For us now there is no such thing as “overtime” just “our time.” Our online business gives us greater control over our finances and our work hours. We do not have to do face-to-face sales and we definitely don’t sell to friends and family. There is no need to stock products or do party plans. We can work from wherever we choose as long as it has internet connection. Our portable office consists of our mobile phones and laptop! We still work yet on our terms. We are extremely dedicated and enthusiastic about helping people fulfil their dreams and especially improving in their life & work. We also believe by improving ourselves and helping those around us the World will become an even better place. 🌴 If you would like to experience LIVING ON ISLAND TIME then cruise to our website to find out more. 🌴 https://lnkd.in/g28BxKpv

I took the train into Cardiff recently. This city is the capital of Wales. The journey only took 20 minutes, an easy commute for workers. Funny how I never really commuted to a job, unless you count the walk down the hall in my homefrom my bedroom to my office. I imagine having to turn up for a job at a certain time, put in your hours and then head on home only to repeat the exercise can be pretty intense. The reward is A “guaranteed” income. 💰 Paid vacations and holidays 🌞 And compensation when you are under the weather - sick pay. 🙄 Being self- employed is multi-faceted. In the beginning of the journey none of the above are the norm. The success or the failure rests on your shoulders. This is such a responsiblity. Sometimes, oftentimes, it weighs heavy on your heart and shoulders. I have always said I have a “cast iron” stomach. Most things I can figure out whether this be: ☑ Seek help ☑ Change directions ☑ Cry [lol] And I AM VERY STUBBORN.. This has enabled me to move forward and never look back. However there are a few things that I would do differently, if I had to do it over again. Namely 🙄 I would show myself some grace. 🙄I wouldn’t push so hard. 🙄I would trust my gut more. I am curious. If you are self employed and could start over again is there anything you would change? Oh and BTW, I would make a TERRIBLE employee. I hate following instructions and being told what to do. This is, as they say, not my jam.

Building a business while working a job? Think about it… There are 168 hours in a week. And between: A 45-hour a week job 8 hours of sleep per night 3 hours per night of leisure time 2 hours a day for eating + commuting → That leaves you with 32 hours a week to build what you wish. Now, you and I aren’t perfect, → So let’s knock off another 8 hours and say you're left with 24 hours in a week. →That’s 24 hours a week you can invest in building your business (if that's what you want to do ofc). Not here trying to make a point. You obviously understand yourself and your situations better than me. But can I say that maybe YOU CLEARLY DO HAVE TIME? I'll leave it to you. Keep slaying 🔥 #business #time #9to5

It doesn’t matter what everyone else wants… I know what I want! A life FULL of choices! You never know when you are going to be sent a curve ball, so why not be prepared?✌️ Starting my Arbonne business was (and still IS) all about creating choices: spending more time with my kids, earning trips, travelling more, getting into the arena with people that know more than I do, extra $, being able to help a friend when no one else can! I know what’s average and typical! But I am not here for average, I am here to show myself and other’s what’s possible when you keep playing✨ #networkmarketing #networking #remotework #workfromhome #businessowner #healthandwellness #personalgrowthjourney

▪︎ Performance Coach ▪︎ Problem Solver - I help my clients - Escape having a boss (Plan your escape whilst working) - Set up businesses - Buy investment properties - Are you ready? Let’s go 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
I had a men's hairdressing business for 14 years; 99% of the clients were men. One thing I noticed is that I think differently from 90% of men. The business was in the old city of Bristol, the working area, so the clients were mainly office workers. I never understood them. They seemed brainwashed by the system. They couldn't function without a boss; it's like they couldn't live without having someone looking after them and paying their wages. Coaching is not all about money for me. I know there is a different way, and I want to help people escape. You don't have to have someone else looking after you. Why would a man want someone else in control of their life? I never wanted a boss; I didn't understand it. Having a boss long-term to me is failing in life. It's tough having a job; it's tough doing your own thing. Jobs are not security; those days are gone. Security to me is having low overheads and passive income paying my bills without working. Working should be fun. Work becomes fun and enjoyable if you take being desperate for money out of the equation. I speak with lots of men, and very few have any sort of plan. They are stuck with bills to pay and commitments, and they don't take any time to think about how they are going to escape. It all starts with a plan 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀

Supporting overwhelmed business owners with administration tasks, research, account management, communication, client management, customer service & other ad-hoc projects.
Can you remember what your ‘why’ for starting your business was? Does it still keep you going on the days that are harder? For me, spending more time with my family is my biggest motivation, before starting LLO I was commuting to London which didn’t give me the time that my family deserved. I know this is something a lot of business owners struggle with and being able to help you change that is all part of my ‘why’. I hope your ‘why’ is keeping you motivated this Monday! 🙌 〰️ 〰️ #virtualassistant #virtualassistantservices #vaservices #vaforhire #palife #personalassistant #smallbusinesssupport #smallbusinesstipsandtricks

Bookkeeper | IAB Member, Xero Certified Advisor. Helping business owners take control of the numbers
Running a small business is hard. Running a small business as a single parent, with no support, is hard. Running a small business as a single parent, with no support, and multiple chronic illnesses, sometimes feels impossible. There are times I wonder if I should go back to a 'proper' job, where I can go to work, do my job, and at the end of the day go home and forget about it until I'm back in the office... But then I remember why I chose self employment in the first place - I choose when I work - I don't have to worry about childcare in the holidays, I don't have to feel guilty taking time off if they are poorly, and I don't have to say no to after school activities because I can't get them there in time. I can work around my health too, if I am having a flare up I can be sat in bed in my pj's and still working, I can work in the evenings or weekends if I have a busy week with appointments. I also absolutely love what I do! Most people hate the numbers side of business, but I genuinely love it!! It's not just working with the numbers that I enjoy, helping small businesses set up processes that make it easier for them to understand and see the big picture, is a big part of what makes it so enjoyable! What was your reason for starting your business? A passion for what you do? The work/life balance? Or something else entirely? I'd love to hear your story!

Is working from home making people lazier? The harsh truth. We've all seen that one person who lazes around in the office and avoids work. What do you think they'll be like once they're allowed to work from home? They'll get lazier. Let's take another example of a person who works hard day and night in the office and always completes her/his tasks. What do you think they'll be like once they get to work from home? They'll work even more. Why? Because they'll be more comfortable and have more time to work. Working from home isn't making people lazier. It amplifies the qualities that are already present in them. #workfromhome #remotework #job #founder #entrepreneur

"Wow, you did college online? You must be super disciplined!" 🤩 I get this line a lot. And yeah, I may be a tad more disciplined than the average person. But let's be real. I was working part time, and once I came home, I had limited hours to squeeze in my college work. It had to get done. And yeah, I'll call myself a good student, so it got done. Running a business from home is different. 😅 I need to edit X amount of pages in a day. And no, I cannot sit and do that with utter focus for hours on end. (I don't think any editor can, but sometimes just 30 minutes straight can be tough! 😵💫) So what's my trick for actually getting work done and not wandering off to the fridge every time I hit a hard paragraph? 😋 Answer: The Zone. Pamela Meister's virtual coworking group. We have a range of different professionals, 24/7 coworking slots, and the accountability and support so many work-from-home entrepreneurs struggle with. And it's 20% off right now. 😎 I don't feel salesy promoting this because it has seriously made a huge difference in my work life. It can make a difference in yours too. The link to join The Zone Community is in the comments. 👇 #wfh #coworking #accountability #motivation #miningthemessage
