Dusting off a once-familiar strategy, Thoma Bravo will take #cybersecurity vendor Darktrace private for $5.3 billion. The deal comes after several rounds of on-again, off-again talks, which started not long after Darktrace’s IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2021. The network threat detection and remediation technology from Darktrace joins an already-stuffed security portfolio at Thoma. No other buyout shop has been busier in the sector. Including Darktrace, Thoma has spent more than $35 billion on the dozen cybersecurity take-privates it has done, according to the 451 Research M&A KnowledgeBase.
