Hiring an HR VP - Hi Liz, what should I look for when I’m hiring an HR VP? Look for someone smart and ethical who will tell you the truth when you don’t want to hear it. - OK, how do I test for that? Test for it? Have a conversation with them. - We use a lot of assessments, and I wondered if you had a favorite assessment for that characteristic. Assessments are awful and have nothing to do with recruiting in 2024. Any HR VP canddate who agrees to take a test is the wrong person. You’re looking for a trusted advisor, not an underling.
Interesting! I like that. well said. I may not be what you are looking for but I would like to be looked at.
In the recruitment process, Assessments are just tools that contribute. But, meaningful conversations are significant to reveal the true person he/she is. 📌
Liz, I am hiring for an assistant in my department. I can pretty much gauge a candidate's functional ability with few work related questions but what are other(great!) questions to ask to know the person in better way?
Great piece! I love
I like the 3rd line look for someone... Because I connect with it but it doesn't worth it in Nepali culture..Most of us love to do sugercode rather than telling the truth...
Thanks for posting

8moAssessments never work for me. They are too generalized and not based in reality for a neurodivergent individual...
