🗣Don't let the number of applicants deter you from pursuing your dream job It's not uncommon to see job postings with hundreds of applicants, but here's a little secret: from my experience, a significant portion of those applicants might not even meet the qualifications or be located where the job is offered. So, if you have the skills, qualifications, and genuinely believe you'd be a great fit for the role, don't hesitate to apply! After all, you'll never know unless you take the opportunity. Your unique talents and experiences could be exactly what the employer is looking for. Remember, it's not about being the most qualified candidate; it's about being the right fit. ❓Why would someone lie in a job application?🤷♂️ Our team recently posted a job opportunity with a specific requirement: 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀. Although we design and commercialize intelligent instruments and software, we want some team members who genuinely understand our clients - who can empathize with their daily lives, needs, challenges, and motivations. Most importantly, we want to ensure we provide our clients with relevant solutions... and maybe even 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱. 😉 So, what’s the point of answering "3" or "5" or even "10" to the question “How many years of work experience do you have in industrial fermentation?” when the resume clearly shows none - 0️⃣ - nothing - rien - nada? We will find out anyway, and quite quickly (guess what, this is the first thing we verify!). This person will then be in a very bad position if they ever wish to apply for another role in our organization. I'm surprised by the number of applicants I've been told have done this. So... ❓Why would someone lie in a job application?🤷♂️
