Yesterday I joined the EYE on Insurance event in Amsterdam. The theme of the event was "embracing risks". The event had a great line-up with Loes Andringa,Parcifal van Overbeek, Philip Vermeulen, Nicole Pijnenburg, Rudrani Djwalapersad, Rozan Dekker, Leonique Van Houwelingen and Roel Janssen. A few takeaways I took with me from this event: - Cyber Risks is a top priority for C-level managers; - Environmental change is surprisingly enough not a priority for C-level managers (place 17 so not even in the top 10); - Closing the protection gap is something which needs an increased attention in our society; - AI and data will become more important in the insurance industry in the near future. The last topic was for a data enthusiast as I am not a real surprise as we at Kinsman already had multiple use cases at some insurance companies in Germany where data analytics and AI where used to improve business processes. #Cyberattacks and #geopolitical_risks are the biggest emerging issues chief risk officers (CROs) expect to contend with during the next three years, according to a survey from the Institute of International Finance (IIF) and Ernst & Young (EY). When it comes to cyber risk, 46% of CROs view third-party vulnerabilities as the biggest threat to their operations, while geopolitical risks are framed around the macroeconomic impact, increased cyberwarfare and regulatory changes. The slideshow above highlights the 10 risk management topics that will require the most attention in the next 12 months, according to the survey of chief risk officers.
