🎉 Today, we’re celebrating Men's Health Week with a powerful call to action for our colleagues and patients: Know Your Numbers! In Ireland, too many men skip routine check-ups, ignore symptoms, or delay seeking medical help when they’re sick or in pain. But together, we can change that narrative. Pharmacists are at the frontline of men’s health, offering essential education and encouraging proactive health measures. At LloydsPharmacy, we’re committed to making a difference and making men's health matter and that's why today across our 80 pharmacies, we’re providing free blood pressure checks and expert advice for our patients. This simple step can lead to a lifetime of better health. It’s time to empower the men in your life—husbands, partners, fathers, friends, brothers, and sons—to take control of their health. Let’s inspire them to know their numbers and to reach out to healthcare professionals with any concerns. Together, we can create a healthier future for all men. Let’s make every number count! 💪💙 #MensHealthMatters #KnowYourNumbers #MakeYourHealthMatter

☀ This month is all about a topic that I am passionate about >>>JOY<<< ☀ As healthcare workers, we are focused on the Triple Aim of healthcare: enhancing patient experience, improving population health, and reducing cost per capita. However, my favourite aim is the Quadruple Aim, which recognizes the importance of healthcare providers' well-being and joy at work. Joy is a key factor in achieving the Triple Aim, as it motivates, drives, and inspires us to go above and beyond for our patients. 💡 So how to be joyous! One hurdle we face is the difficulty of doing nothing, but even dedicating a few minutes to daydreaming or self-care activities can lighten the load on our frontal cortex. It's crucial to prioritize ourselves. And now, for a daydream joke: Why did the nurse daydream about becoming a comedian? Because she wanted to give patients a healthy dose of laughter alongside their medicine! 🤣 https://lnkd.in/gd66MkPw

It was three o'clock in the morning and so many things were going wrong for this patient.😩 We made the call to the family But we couldn't get ahold of them. The documentation was old and couldn't be used... So… this patient gets transferred to the emergency room. She gets intubated because of a decreased level of consciousness. Three days later, we move towards comfort measures but at the same time, we’ve put the patient through a lot of suffering. We’ve put some distress on the family. Additionally, our care teams have experienced moral distress For taking care of somebody who doesn't even want that level of care And the associated costs with that admission are through the roof. All these steps were revealing to me that ↙ WE. NEED. TO. DO. MORE. We need to pivot and improve our healthcare system as a whole. So how do we do that? I'm asking you. What do we do to improve this? Because if it isn't obvious through examples like this... This sh*t isn't working like it should. If you agree... Hit that repost button. ♻️ #healthcare #medicine #health #leadership #publicspeaking

Five things I learnt from my hospital stay: * Health is wealth. Never ignore the warning signs. * Work can wait. Your health is your priority. * A good mediclaim policy is a must-have. * Quality over quantity when it comes to friends. True colours shine in adversity. * Family is everything. Cherish them. Hospital boredom is real. Reading saved me! 🏥📚 #health #priorities #mediclaim #friends #family #hospitallife
