Clinical trials can be an important treatment option for people with rare and less common cancers, giving access to medications not otherwise available. But there are lots of things to discuss with patients to help them decide whether a trial is right for them. You can help people feel informed by talking about things like: 🧑🔬 the research so far, and chances of the treatment being effective 🧑🔬 potential side effects of the treatment 🧑🔬 any eligibility requirements or impacts on future treatment options 🧑🔬 additional travel requirements, or the additional support and monitoring offered 🧑🔬 their right to stop the trial at any point.
